Note to owner’s response-
I was never told I had to come back multiple times. I dye my roots bc I have small children and are unable to go to a salon every two weeks. I always have my balayage done at a salon and I have no problem paying top dollar if that’s the service I will receive . If you think my red toned hair that changed colors bc of a chemical reaction was what I asked for or looks good , that’s concerning. I wish you the best of luck and I can only hope someone else doesn’t get treated like I did.
Would not recommend…Overcharged for services that ruined my hair and tried to charge me again to fix it.
Booked my appointment for all over root touch up and balayage. At the time of the appointment i informed the stylist that I currently box dye my roots since I have 2 babies at home (which I always tell my stylist bc even I know it can cause the dye to change tones) he choose to not do a swatch test or have me sign their “waiver”. I was there under 2 hours and when I was finished I was told to go to the front desk to pay. My total was $365 so with tip it was over $430, I wasn’t offered or given a receipt. After washing my hair once I realized he never dyed my roots and the base of my hair turned red ( which is mind blowing to me that any hairstyle would do full balayage and not cover roots first, especially when that was the service I booked) so I called the salon to inquire about my charges and why my hair turned red. It turns out I was charged for full balayage and partial highlights ($160 + $75) . They had me come back to “fix” the red in my hair. He told me the only way to get the red out would be to dye over all of my hair. Not being an expert in the matter I trusted what he suggest considering he charged me $200 an hour after all said and done. The next day when the sun came up I realized that he dyed all of my hair a dark brown(opposite of what I came in for) so all the “highlights and full balayage” we’re basically gone and now all my hair had the red tint . I sent pictures and spoke with the salon manager who told me to not put any color on my hair for at least 4 weeks so my hair doesn’t fall out bc my hair had a reaction to the dye. She spoke with the owner and said that she would give me a coupon for $50 off for me to come back and have my hair “fixed” . I asked for the owner to call me and discuss and she had the manager tell me that she would not be calling me, which is so incredibly unprofessional. No one was ever able to explain how I was charged for full balayage and partial highlights in under 2 hours and refused to refund me for any services or let alone have a different stylist fix my hair. Its obvious they have no problem overcharging and under delivering. Save your...
Read moreHow about minus stars? Do they offer that? This place used to be wonderful and I do not know what happened, but I think management has just stepped away from it leaving the elephants in charge of the peanut factory. Twice, not once, twice, my daughter arranged for child care so that we could get massages. Twice the appointments were not honored. Why? Because somebody else has the same first name as my daughter. So rather than check the last name to be sure they're giving the appointment to the correct person, they just give it to whoever happens to raise their hand with that first name. It just went from bad to worse and there are not enough characters that I'm allowed on this screen to detail what happened. But trust me. If you value your time as we do ours then don't waste it by going to this poorly run, mismanaged salon. But if you do go and your name happens to be something rather common like Mary or Sue then good luck to you because if there's another Mary or Sue there they will probably jump in your spot. They don't check last names. They don't look for any kind of confirmation that they have the right person. They just go by first names. Well gee whiz, what are the odds of there being more than one Mary in the room? The owner should be ashamed of herself as well as the manager for allowing such a slipshod business practice. The receptionists are no better. You're a receptionist. It's not that hard. You are supposed to receive people. That means checking to make sure that you have the right person for the right appointment. A 6-year-old could do it. You go to a spa to get away from stress....not pile more on. There are plenty of other well-managed spas in the area at which you could spend your money AND get the stress relief you are paying. I strongly suggest you investigate one of them and avoid this one...
Read moreThis is the best day spa I have ever been to -- and thanks to Groupons and an addiction to massage, I've been to a lot of them :) They are all amazingly friendly, unlike many places in the area. From the front desk to every single professional working there, they are all accommodating, client-services oriented, and experts at what they do. My stylist is Rebecca, and if she ever moves out of state, so will I, I suppose! I have stopped going anywhere else for nails and while the cost is more than the corner nail shops, the service is worth it! From hot neck warmers while you soak, to awesome massage chairs, it can't be beat. Massage and facials are all outstanding. Best yet, they have THE BEST hours, staying open late for people who cannot make it during the work day, plus flexible and available weekend hours. If you need to cancel or reschedule, they work with you to get you in. I cannot speak more highly of them, and am so very glad I found Body Serene. I won't be going...
