If you're in search of a dining experience that transports you to the heart of Mexico, look no further than El Vago Mexican Restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a vibrant atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. In this review, I'll highlight some of the standout aspects that make El Vago a must-visit destination for Mexican cuisine enthusiasts. Let's start with the guacamole app—it's everything you could want and more. Prepared right at your table, the guacamole is a perfect blend of creamy avocados, zesty lime juice, and just the right amount of heat from fresh jalapeños. The vibrant colors and fresh flavors make it an excellent starter that leaves you craving for the forthcoming feast. When it comes to tacos and burritos, El Vago hits the spot with their authentic flavors and generous portions. Each taco is a culinary masterpiece, boasting a harmony of perfectly seasoned meats, fresh toppings, and homemade tortillas that add a delightful touch of authenticity. Whether you opt for the succulent carne asada, tender carnitas, or flavorful vegetarian fillings, each bite is a burst of Mexican goodness that transports your taste buds south of the border. The burritos are equally impressive, generously packed with a choice of fillings and accompanied by a mouthwatering array of salsas and sides. Beyond the food, El Vago shines with its friendly and attentive staff. From the moment you're seated, you're made to feel like a valued guest, with the servers ready to guide you through the menu and offer recommendations tailored to your preferences. The staff's genuine warmth and knowledge of the cuisine further enhance the overall dining experience, ensuring that you feel right at home in this Mexican culinary haven. The atmosphere at El Vago adds an extra layer of authenticity to the dining experience. The vibrant colors, traditional decor, and lively music create an ambiance that immerses you in the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico. Whether you're celebrating with friends, enjoying a family meal, or simply savoring a solo dinner, the restaurant's atmosphere creates a convivial environment that elevates the entire experience. El Vago Mexican Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that impresses with its authentic Mexican cuisine, attentive staff, and vibrant atmosphere. Their guacamole app is a must-try, showcasing the freshness and flavors that define Mexican cuisine. The tacos and burritos are a testament to their dedication to traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients. From the moment you step inside, you'll be transported to Mexico, surrounded by the warmth of the staff and the cultural ambiance. If you're seeking an escape to Mexico without leaving your city, El Vago is the perfect choice. Prepare to indulge in a gastronomic fiesta that will leave you with a satisfied smile and a newfound appreciation for the rich flavors of Mexico

ok, hear me out. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. The appetizers and drink selections were ok. The salsa with the chips was more like a purée or spaghetti sauce, the chips tasted odd, the queso reminded me of melted mozzarella in a bowl with chopped up green peppers (she said it had jalepenos in it but I think not 😂) you couldn’t dip the chips in it bc it was just a melted.bowl.of.actual.cheese that came with tortillas so we just forked some in a jawn and had a cheese quesadilla? (we ordered it bc the salsa was ick) Margarita was yummy. I tried to order the burrito bowl but it’s only a lunch item ($17 lunch item) I guess? So, I couldn’t get it for dinner, fine. So I panic ordered the veggie Fajitas ($20) for literally onions and peppers with 5 tortillas (no rice included, no cheese, just pico, guac and sour cream (small jawns) the side of rice was small, like a 1 cup measuring cup amount…. it was delicious tho! The ribeye for the fajitas was incredible tasting. Service was good, busy for a friday night so we understood and didn’t mind, the restaurant inside and outside was absolutely stunning. Beautiful summer evening. Bathroom is inside behind the kitchen. Overall glad we stopped in and would dine again would just skip the appetizers and BYOB. I think it was $85 with tip 🖤

Very cozy family owned boutique restaurant. It has a very unique decor. It is very small place how ever the family was very quick to accommodate our large party, which took over almost whole restaurant. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options and almost all of them very delicious. If you like some kick with your Mexican food, ask for their house green and red hot sauces. They were amazing, be careful with red one. Our family will certainly be back to this restaurant. Props to staff for managing our expectations and delivering well!

I had high hopes for this place and was very excited to try it. The decor and atmosphere was great, but sadly, that is the only thing it had going for it. The food was mediocre for an authentic Mexican restaurant. Disappointed by the chips and salsa. The chips could have come from a bag and the salsa was like a pasty bean sauce of some sort. The service was terrible. We spent about 3 hours there purely because we had to wait more than 30 min for the waiter to come back to our table for anything. They ran out of so many items on their menu including the specialty item that was written on the board. Apparently, they ran out of that days prior but it was still written up there. There was no urgency with anything that we ordered. Part of our tables food came out and then the remainder took about 20 min. Instead of going instantly back for the remainder of our food, the waiter assisted other tables while we sat and waited with just a few meals. We ordered the chips and salsa but he forgot so we asked for them again once our meals came. He must have known that we were there forever and displeased because when we asked for the check, he asked if we wanted complimentary margaritas. There was no bar so these came out of a pitcher that was sitting on the counter in the main dining area. At first, I thought they tasted good but we could only drink a quarter of it because they were so thick and tart. We paid the bill and left because instantly one person in our party started to feel sick. 5 min into the car ride home, had to pull over so he could vomit. I believe the overly sweet Margarita was what caused this. I wish this establishment the best, but we will not...
