Michaels — Local services in Slidell

I have a deep love for all things Michael's. I love to work with my hands and this store has most everything I could need. I love their coupons. Now they can be very expensive but I watch out for their stackable coupons (which they have every couple weeks). I dont usually buy their wood, because it is of poor quality in general, with a few exceptions, but they are my go to place for high quality picture frames at a discounted price. Our local stores are extremely well maintained. they are clean and well stocked. The staff are usually knowledgeable. Even if not, they have someone on staff that is more than willing to help. They don't always have what I'm looking for, but I love that I can decorate my daughters room, buy baking and decorating supplies, buy or make jewelry for my mom, get crafts Legos and dinosaurs for my son, frame my husband CD collections, learn to draw in script, and purchase all my craft supplies in the same store. I had an awesome experience here! I'm so thrilled to have found a Michael's store that actually sells fabric by the yard! I don't know why the locations that are near my home don't sell fabric by the yard, but they made me believe that was the standard for Michael's stores. I was wrong and pleasantly surprised! The sweet lady cutting my fabric was having a little trouble with her handheld device, so she called her manager and he was immensely helpful to both her and me; he quickly resolved the issue and was very professional and friendly when doing so. Best of all, the lovely nonbinary employee who checked me out was super fast and friendly. I think their name was Izan, I hope I got that right because they were so awesome and I want to give them a shoutout specifically! We arrive at 5:30 for balloon release at 6:00P. We needed 34 balloons blowed up. It is now 6:16p and they are on balloon number 15. They have ONE helium tank and 3 workers. 2 are just standing there assisting very little. One blowing them up, tying and stringing. The other arranging them and one clipping. Here is the issue, if we should have come a day earlier, answer your phone so you can tell us that. No one ever answered the phone when we called two days prior..... When we arrive, you didn't say you couldn't accommodate but you did spend at least 15 mins looking for all the pieces to the helium tank. They were literally not in a rush AT ALL. If you are going to advertise you have balloons, which is rare these days PLEASE be able to accommodate request because you will get a lot in an area that don't offer this service anymore!!
