Came in to visit today for the very first time. I planned on stopping in, looking around, trying some samples, and then being on my way. But I met the best worker and she helped me so much!
Lisa (aka the best worker) greeted me and asked me what my favorite fruit is. When I told her peach, she got me 2 samples and explained to me all the different things that I could do with balsamic. She then got me a glass of water and mixed the light peach balsamic into the water. Game changer! I ended up getting Coconut Balsamic and she even told me to add it to cake, which I can’t wait to try!
Next, I was deciding between two olive oils to purchase. Lisa took me to another oil (Scarborough Fare Oil) and told me to try it. It was better than the two oils that I was deciding between!
Every business needs more people like Lisa. She is sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and the entire reason for my purchases! She explains what each product is used for and best to use with. She needs a raise! Thank you so much Lisa! I can’t wait to use my Coconut Balsamic and...
Read moreWe live in Chicago suburb, but we love to go here when we're heading to Michigan to visit family. We buy all our Balsamic vinegars from here. There are places here in Chicago locally but are not as good (too watery and expensive). Our favorite are the 25yrs aged South Haven Balsamic Vinegar which is really a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and the Cranberry Pear Balsamic vinegar. Its nice and thick due to ageing. Despite being sourced from Italy, the price is reasonable. As a comparison I purchased a Traditional dark Balsamic Vinegar 200ml in Chicago for $16.95 which was sourced from Southern California and was watery compared to 250ml of the 25 year South Haven Traditional Dark Balsamic Vinegar for $18.95 which is nice and thick and sourced from Italy. The store is nice and service is very...
Read moreI was here for the first time this weekend. The owners are so helpful! It was great to be escorted around and shown different combinations of the oils and balsamics and given examples of good cooking methods. Taste the butternut squash oil and love it, but have no idea how to use it in a recipe? Just ask! They will have at least five ideas off the top of their heads. Everything is delicious, they are very generous and well organized and clean about samples, which I appreciate. There are little extras to purchase in the shop, like cute dipping bowls, etc., but it's obvious that the focus is the oil & vinegar, providing quality and variety. I'm excited to bring the rest of my family back...
