So far, I have visited three times! In a row! I'm on a reflection vacation and I'm eating more than reflecting. It's all good though! Day 1 We (my sister and I) tried a lot on the menu and loved it all! Sweet & Smoky Ribs and slaw, Cuban Shrimp (poached shrimp, saffron, garlic butter, and paprika) with ciabatta Mussels (pei mussels, with French mustard cream), Truffle Mac N Cheese, House Salad, a Coral Martini (orange vodka, peach Schnapps, pineapple and cranberry juices) and a North Beach Martini (Vanilla vodka, Malibu rum, Blue Curacao, pineapple juice and cream. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. The French mustard cream with the mussels was delicious! The saffron and garlic butter on the shrimp - oh my goodness! Yeah, everything was delicious! Our server Amber was fantastic! Attentive, courteous, very knowledgeable about what is offered at Taste. And I have a special dietary need due to an allergy that she accommodated - more than once! Great Customer Service!
Day 2 My sister wasn't feeling well. She ordered the hummus and apple crumb cobbler. I ordered the Salmon dinner. It was seared and topped with cucumber cream, and sat on a bed of jalapeno-cilantro rice (can you say spicy?) and sooo yummy! I also ordered the popcorn kale and a bloody mary. Weird combination, but it was so good together. And yes, even though the server didn't share her name, she was awesome!
Day 3 My sister went home. I ate alone. I ordered some tomato bisque to-go. Can't give a review because I'm still here and haven't tasted it yet. Oh well... let me sample it and at least give my opinion... OH MY GOODNESS! IT'S SO CREAMY AND DELICIOUS! In the photo that I post, please excuse the plastic container it's in and the ciabatta wrapped in foil. It is after all a to-go order What I ordered for my meal were the fish tacos. Crispy Blue gill, dill pickle slaw and sriracha on corn tortillas. Soooo good! I didn't order dessert, but I did have a gery delicious blueberry cobbler martini with blueberry vodka, RumChata, and butterscotch Schnapps - garnished with a blueberry - dessert and libation combination My server, she cracked up when she saw me sipping the tomato bisque and offered me a spoon. Nope, I was good with the sip lol! I'll have this later tonight!
This place has really good food and excellent service! I will visit whenever I am in...
Read moreWent here to celebrate my partner and a recent work milestone. It was a busy Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We were able to get sat for 2 instantly, which was very lucky as they were bustling with people both indoor and outdoor.
I got the Dirty Detorit Martini, which was pickle juice and vodka with cracked black pepper. I really like pickle drinks, so this hit the mark for me. Very enjoyable drink.
I love food and want to try one of everything instead of just ordering a main entree. So, that is basically what I did with the small plates.
Here is everything we ordered: Soup of the Day: Cream of Garlic - YUM garlic lovers dream Mac and Cheese - Very good creamy cheesy comfort dish to the max. Crispy Artichoke - These were so light and one of my favorite parts to dinner. Garlic Mushroom - These were great with the grilled bread to soak up all the saucey goodness. Cuban Shrimp - loved the saffron in this! Bay Scallops Scampi - huge fan of baby scallops. Fun spin on scampi that I've never had before. Potato Pancakes - the apple chutney with these was delicious. House Salad w/ their housemade ranch - typical salad and a great homemade ranch
The waitress was incredible and started bringing our food out in waves because we ordered so much, lol. Unfortunately, my date had an illness flare up while eating that caused us to need to leave while food was still coming. The waitress got the remaining food boxed while cashing us out and even brought us 2 waters to go and plastic silverware. The service provided was above and beyond. I can't wait to try this location again. Thank you to the Chefs...
Read moreThis is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever had the privilege of eating at! Though very busy at the time we arrived, we were still taken care of quickly. Our waitress got our orders in quickly and was great about checking on us and refilling drinks, even in a very busy room. Though it did get quite loud at times with so many people, it wasn’t so bad that you couldn’t hear the conversation at your table.
The best part however is of course the food! With our visit to this restaurant we were celebrating a part of our honeymoon. Before stepping into the building we resolved to try several different meals and save the leftovers to take back with us. We tried ribs, potato pancakes, Korean barbecue, some tasty tempura sushi and the chef specialty Mac and cheese which happened to be pizza at the time.
I can’t emphasize enough how tasty each meal was. The mac and cheese was creamy with pepperoni, the barbecue and ribs were both savory and flavorful and any fan of potatoes will absolutely love those pancakes. Though I’m not a huge fan of sushi myself, the tasty tempura was absolutely delicious. We boxed our leftovers and enjoyed them the following day. This is one of the best restaurants you will find, especially when you look at individual meal prices versus the amount of food in each of those meals. For the price of 2 meals at most restaurants, we were able to order 5 and go home with enough leftovers for another meal the following day. If you find yourself in South Haven this is a must stop restaurant! Just make sure you plan in advance at least a little bit as they get very...
