It is hard to find a doctor's office and doctor one can feel at ease with and who I feel listens and cares nowadays. At least that has been the case for me in Miami. So the rare times I do find a practice and a doctor that can provide these things, I want to let others know.
I feel like I got so lucky finding this dermatology office. My husband visited this office prior to me and he had a really good experience and was very satisfied with the care he received, so I decided to make an appointment for myself. I am happy to say that he was absolutely right. As soon as I walked in the front desk receptionist was very attentive and friendly. It took a little bit for me to be called in, but I chalked it up to the fact that I was a new patient and I honestly did not mind. The front office receptionist apologized for the wait and advised they would be right with me. Sidenote: One of my first jobs as a young adult was as a front office receptionist at a medical office and I know that long waits will happen. Many times all a patient needs is to know is that they haven't been forgotten. Personal attention goes a long way.
Once I was called in, the assistant, Sarah, was very kind and made me feel at ease. I came in for a cyst on my back. As you can imagine, it was a bit embarrassing. When PA Lutz came in to see me, she made me feel comfortable right away. She was wonderful! She listened to my concerns, walked me through the procedure to remove the cyst, and was very conscious of the discomfort and pain I was in and constantly asked if I was okay. The cyst removal went a lot smoother than I thought it would.

   Read moreMy wife and I went to the Skin Center together for different reasons and different appt times. The front desk staff were great, friendly and welcoming. Wait time wasnât bad, even with us arriving early. Our appts were with Stephanie who doesnât speak spanish, so I went with my wife when they called her in. Donât worry about the spanish thing. Her asst speaks spanish, but they both were extremely accommodating and actually ended up taking us both at the same time, wife first. We had that laughing moment at first, because Stephanie looks so young, but let me tell you, this woman has an A game. Not only very nice, great personality and bedside manner, she is incredibly knowledgable. Stephanie must have been at the top of her class. There was never a moment where I felt uncomfortable as she was able to identify and diagnose both of our issues and immediately explained our options and a clear path to recovery with confidence that she will resolve our problems in a timely manner. Our time was not rushed and there was plenty of time to ask questions, which were answered completely. We both have followup with Stephanie and I am glad I chose her and the Skin Center. Although I am not looking forward to the upcoming treatments, I know they are necessary and am comfortable I am in the right place and made the right choice in picking the Skin Center. Thank you...

Appointment was today Monday at 11:30am, Friday prior to such appointment I received a call to confirm I would be going, I attended the call and confirmed. Same day as appointment I get a call 20 mins prior stating the clinic was not in-network for HMO. I expressed how I was literally around the corner (as new patient I arrive to offices 15 mins early for paperwork) and wished they would have confirmed insurance the week prior instead of me wasting a PTO/time/gas. I felt that girl was shifting blame to me stating I should have verified the office website because they canât run insurance until day of or prior day. I stated prior day was Friday when they called me to confirm appointment, and first office Iâve been to that runs insurance so late. I donât think it takes much time to verify new patients and the insurance info they input. Someone could have easily seen on the chart the insurance type and not have to run it to know it wouldnât be covered. She kept pushing back without apology I should have verified and sheâll talk to front desk girls. I hung up honestly, cuz the lack of accountability from an office doesnât sit right with me.
