This was my first and my last time shopping at this Aldi’s location. The store itself is clean and well organized but the employees are clearly overworked and dislike their jobs. I get it, and this isn’t against the employees at all, but the service I received today was horrible and I will never shop here again because of the attitude I was given by the cashier. I was told to take the boxes off the conveyor belt at the register, I complied and took my items out of the boxes and back onto the conveyor belt. None of the customers behind me were instructed to do the same, despite them putting their boxes on the conveyor belt. I wouldn’t have brought race into this if I wasn’t the only brown individual in the store at the time. I wasn’t greeted like the other (white) customers, I wasn’t told to “have a good day” like the other customers, instead I was greeted with a blank stare and an attitude for absolutely no apparent reason.
Brown folks! Save your money and head off to Trader Joe’s, where the employees are much kinder and you won’t be discriminated upon based on the color of your skin. (And you’ll get better quality/more variety of foods and produce) In this day and age, racial discrimination must be put to an end. I am not “canceling” this store, because my review means nothing to the hundreds of predominantly white people that shop here, but it means everything to MY people to know where they shouldn’t shop. Horrendous experience, and I will be sure to let everyone that will listen to me know...
Read moreThis is William's wife; I would have given a 5 star however, this morning when we asked an associate (young man with dark curly hair) who was filling the bakery area if there was any English muffins he quickly responded with NO along with another associate (female with glasses) who was filling call in orders. As I was continuing my shopping I asked another associate (tall thin man with short hair) who was filling boxed stuffing mix if he could check to see if there were any English muffins in the back. He said YES without hesitation and went to a pallet that actually had the English muffins. Then he preceded to fill the empty spot where the English muffins were supposed to be. As somebody who works in customer service your two associates who quickly said In NO need to be retrained on how to at least say let me check, and then go check. As for the associate who helped me, thank you for you time and assistance. We shop here quite often and was disappointed today that it took three associates to...
Read moreI had really high hopes for the South Windsor Aldi but they've been proven wrong. While the store is set up with much more room than Vernon, they mislabel items and refuse to give you the shelf price. Ex: it's November 27th so the Halloween Hostess cupcakes are labeled 25¢ but ring up at 89¢ and when I said, "Oh, those are labeled 25¢ right at the end of your register," the cashier responded, "No, they're 89¢," and wouldn't even check the display - mind you there was no line behind me. Then as I was bagging I realized someone had swiped the insulated bag from my cart so don't trust your fellow shoppers even long enough to grab things off of the shelves. (I know that's not the store's fault but it's something to consider when deciding to shop here or not.) That's never even happened to...
