M&R Liquors — Local services in South Windsor

Used to be one of my go-to places, until today. I went in this afternoon to buy some things and walked around the perimeter of the store with my purchases. I made eye contact with a male employee with stark white hair as I made my way to the register. I paid for my purchases and on the way out I heard him say under his breath behind me "Good job. Nice try." as if he was insinuating I was going to steal the products I had in my hands that I had already paid for. I let it go as maybe it was something I didn't hear, but it ate me up so much I called to speak to the management and they basically didn't care. I said I wasn't looking for anything out of this, just to be aware their employee is saying things like this. She had nothing to say other than she didn't think that happened but I insisted they check their cameras and even gave them a description of me and the clothing I was wearing. Again she was dismissive and didn't care. If you don't mind being accused of shoplifting go ahead and shop here. Otherwise I'd choose a different liquor store...

Please hire people that are actually young enough to accurately see a picture while checking an ID. My boyfriend stopped in to grab some NON ALCOHOLIC cbd seltzers, and the old lady at the register asked my boyfriend for his ID. He gave it to her with no question or problem even though we both knew they were non alcoholic. She looked at his ID, saying that the picture did not look like him. She called another lady over and they just kept staring at the picture. The old lady said my boyfriend’s eyes looked droopy in the picture and not in person. The ID picture was literally taken like 4 months ago and looks exactly like him. I wouldn’t care that much but she was just RUDE the whole time. I just couldn’t believe it. I told her the drinks were non alcohol so that we really didn’t even need the fuss of them looking and staring at the ID for 5 minutes. After all of that she finally called the manager? over to look at the ID and he was like yeah it looks like him. No problem. I would give this place 1 star if it weren’t for him coming...

I was looking for a rare bottle of something. They did not have it. But they were extremely helpful in determining my options and then arranging and placing a special order for me.

I had been looking for a bottle of rum and when I was originally in the store, they did not have it but a manager looked it up and stated that it was available and he would order it for me. He took my name and phone number. He said he would call me within a few days but two weeks went by with no call. So I went back to the store, one week ago, on a Friday. I told the manager who was on-duty what happened and that I understood, maybe they lost my number. He took my information (name and phone number and item) and said he would order it and call me on Monday, either way, to confirm. It's now Thursday and I have not received the call which he said I would have. That's twice. There...
