Harbor Freight — Local services in Spanish Fork

Shocked by one of their employees Summer. I went in and purchased a $300 tool box. I own a local business in Spanish Fork and go in here often. I think in the last month I have likely purchased around $1,000+ in tools and miscellaneous items. I purchased this tool box that is very large and takes two people to load. I brought it back to my warehouse. Had an employee of mine help me unload it and unboxed it. I started putting it together. Tipped it on its side and realized it was missing a complete bag of bolts and washers for the caster wheels. I then reached out to HF and spoke with Summer. I said I had already unboxed it and it was sitting out and half put together. I just needed the bag of bolts. They requested I load the whole thing back up and bring it all back. I pushed back. I expressed this thing is heavy. I won't have an employee here to help me unload it again. Are you going to come help? Of course they won't. Which I knew, just wanted them to understand how frustrating this was about to become. I said so you're telling me I have two options. Bring the whole thing back or go purchase my own bolts? She responded yep, have a good day and hung up on me. I then called back and told her I thought her customer service was extremely disrespectful. She then told me she didn't hang up on me. Yet here I am with one of my employees shocked that this lady would do that. I then spoke with Coby the Manager I guess. Voiced my frustration loaded the whole thing back up and took it back. Here is my biggest frustration with places like this and their employees. Coby, Summer and everyone else at this establishment regardless if I come back or not will still get a pay check and put food on their tables. If that was me and my business I would be doing everything I could to take care of a paying customer who is loyal and comes in often. It was super disappointing. This review won't make them lose business of course. Because they aren't like us small guys. But I hope that Summer can learn some customer service and treat customers as if that was her own business. Me and my dad broke down in my car before getting on the freeway from Spanish Fork and was able to pull into Harbor Freight Tools parking lot to turn off the ignition before it got too hot. It was 99 degrees out and we could not run my AC in the car. I called my brother for help and while we were waiting, I started to get way overheated and told my dad I was going to go inside to see if they had somewhere I could sit down, and possibly a soda or water I could buy. I have a hard time walking and cannot stand very long. I went in and immediately found a display with lawn/camping chairs and sat down. I asked the cashier if they had a cold beverage refrigerator available and she said no, but immediately offered to get me a cold water bottle from their stash in the back. I was so grateful! The water was so cold and so good! Then my dad wandered in and decided he wanted to shop for a few things. The cashier was very friendly, very kind, and very helpful. Well I do love Harbor freight, ive gotten alot of incredible things here, but....I had called on Thursday I believe (phone call has been recorded) the lady that answered the phone stated that there was a 20% coupon for any item, I asked her about thw roof rack I was wanting, she said she thought that it was part of the coupon, but I decided to go over and get thw roof rack with the coupon this Sunday. oh NO, what was I thinking....no, the coupon reflects nitral gloves as the cashier today explained, I tried to explain that i had chatted with someone to her, but she didn't seem to care. Anyway, quite disappointing, and I'm trying to save up the money for the rack. 30$ shy I guess. 😠😡🙄😁 Thanks for looking at reviews, I would suggest you go into the store and not call, as it is possible you will get inaccurate information.
