FRANCISCA SAVED MY CHRISTMAS AND MY RELATIONSHIP. Itās taken a few weeks to write this as Iāve pondered the proper words to describe what I believe to be the most impressionable shopping experience Iāve ever had.
Let me start by saying I am a 26 year old male that knows nothing about makeup or Jacob Charles or Morphe. My girlfriend has two hobbies and thatās being sassy and doing makeup so she obviously had to have the Jacob Charles artistry palette to add to her collection of 700 other similarly colored pallets that have been used once.
Because of this I had the OPPORTUNITY to leave the house during a double XP weekend right after Modern Warfare 2 drops to go find this palette because it wasnāt in stock on Amazon. Thanks Bezos.
Francisca greeted me with open arms and a DESIRE TO SERVE. It made me have an instant flashback to SpongeBob Season 3 Episode 16 where all he knew was fine dining and breathing. Francisca is similar to SpongeBob in this regard however her expertise is customer service and makeup.
Here I was lost, intimidated, and afraid wondering how Iād ever be able to secure the Jacob Charles X Morphe palette when Francisca came to me like a beacon in the night to save Christmas.
She immediately recognized my incompetence and knew without her help Iād likely end up following through with my Plan-B of going to Walmart and purchasing the variety pack of lip smackers flavored lip gloss which would have resulted in me instantly being single.
She quickly escorted me to the proper isle and supplied me with precisely what I came for and politely listened to my barrage of unwarranted questions. In addition to this as we were walking my shoe came untied.. This instantly caused a panic for me as I had recently gotten a terrible sprain on my ankle from riding my scooter at the local skatepark and was bound to crutches and had no way to tie it myself.
Francisca without even asking was on a knee and helped me secure my laces to be perfectly snug to my liking.
Following this experience we were at checkout and she helped me apply a promotional coupon to the product giving me instant savings. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!
Not only had she helped me secure the palette but also saved me 10% off the original MSRP. At this point I was in utter disbelief of the service I had just received and as I thought it couldnāt get any better she grabbed the items and helped escort them to my vehicle due to me being unable to carry them with crutches.
This angelic employee is the gold standard of retail employees and I will now be going out of my way to find opportunities to shop here in the future. I occasionally need a very specific shade of foundation (I am incredibly pale) to cover up my late onset adult acne and you can bet your bottom dollar Iām coming back to Francisca when I run out.
THANK...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible Curbside Pick up Experience. I took my sister down to the store with requested curbside pick up because she was sick and didn't want to go in the store. I helped her when we got to the store with entering the information, the app told us to park in front of the store, and then enter the car information. We did that, and got a screen that said we would be out shortly with your order. We waited for 15 minutes, and then my sister called to see if she did it right, Employee on the phone said they had it, and that they would bring it out in a minute. We waited for them to come out, this entire time we were parked in front, and could see through the windows, occasional customers were coming out of the store, but we could see the employees standing behind the counter talking the whole time we had been waiting in the car. Another 15 minutes had passed, so I went it, and was greeted extremely rudely by the In-Store pick up employee. I asked if they were bringing it out, and she proceeds to tell me "Are you the one that called" and I explained it was my sister, and she gave me a whole story about how "there wasn't any car information or anything on there for them to know who to bring it out to", even though the directions from Ulta say to park in front, turn on your hazard lights. I was the only person parked in front. I told the employee they could have called and told us that they couldn't bring it out, and she said they couldn't call us, and I told her that you guys literally told her you were bringing it out in a minute, that was 15 minutes ago. The employee proceeds to say they didn't have a lot of people and had people coming to the front, even though we had been watching them talking behind the counter this whole time. She wouldn't give me the item, and said my sister had to come in, I went out to get my sister, sister is sick and can't come in, but explains she has me as an alternate on the pick up order with my name. I go back in, and the employee was extremely rude the whole time, and I got the order, after waiting for over 30 minutes of constant head games. I have worked in Customer Service for 10+ years, and this was insanely terrible customer service. For a store trip that should have taken a few minutes to get completed, was ridiculously overcompensated for irresponsible employees who don't understand how to work or be professional. For an error that was the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter and I booked appointments for salon makeup and hair this past weekend (for her wedding). IT WAS TERRIBLE!
We both came in before the big day for trial appointments to make sure things would go as smoothly as possible on the day of my daughter's wedding. Despite all this prep (and extra cost ... and the fact that we arrived on time), our appointments finished 45 minutes LATER THAN THE PROMISED COMPLETION TIME.
If you have ever been a person in charge of wedding, you know what a nightmare being 45 minutes behind schedule is -- it had a terrible snowball effect for the rest of the day. We were late picking up flowers, arriving at the ceremony site, changing into wedding attire, meeting with the photographer for couple/family pics (which was an additional cost because I was paying the photographer by the hour).
I don't know if the Ulta stylist don't allot for enough time for their appointments, or if they are being forced to overbook, or if they don't know how to do their job effieciently... However, I DO know that while I was getting prepped, someone arrived early for their appointment and the stylist actually started on her and tried to split her time between me and the other customer. All this did was make me late and the other client early for their appointment.
This was just, overall, a disappointing experience. I have never paid to have my hair and makeup done...nor has my daughter. I thought doing this together would be a relaxing, bonding experience. However, all it did was make an already busy day unnecessarily stressful.
My heart is sad that I will never get that day back with my daughter. The staff can't be "sorry" enough to undo the unprofessionalism that set us behind schedule and started a snowball of anxious, uptight feelings (and, by the way, NO ONE apologized...they did ask me if I wanted to leave a tip though). What should have been a happy, joyous day will never be remembered that way.
I will never use the Ulta salon and/or makeup service again -- for any occassion. If you're smart, you...
