This is my/our FAVORITE movie theater in Spokane⣠My partner & I both LOVE their documentary/feature film selections and the (cozy/intimate) atmosphere⣠The staff here are VERY KIND & WELCOMING ~ WARM & FRIENDLY ⣠imho "Jonathan" deserves an "EMPLOYEE-OF-THE-MONTH" AWARD/BONUS for his EXCELLENT SERVICE (Especially during the S.P.I.F.F. events that we attended) in terms of SINGLE-HANDEDLY operating ALL ASPECTS of the theater in a TRULY GRACEFUL, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, & MASTERFUL manner [i.e. admissions, concessions, operating the projectors, bringing people their popcorn & drinks during the films, & cleaning up after a group of children that essentially had a "POPCORN WAR" during our screeningā£š„šæš¤Æšæš„ā£] Each time we've visited "Jonathan" ALWAYS provides his "SERVICE WITH A SMILE"ā£šššā£ And, We ALWAYS BUY BOOKLETS OF TICKETS (IN ADVANCE) because this is SUCH AN EXCELLENT IDEA & VALUE as well as a way to HELP SUPPORT THEIR THEATER and KEEP GIVING THEM OUR BUSINESS [instead of AMC]... As a matter of fact we will WAIT to watch the vast majority of the films [90%+] that we're interested in seeing, at THE MAGIC LANTERN THEATER [as opposed to seeing them at AMC -- the only ones we go to them for are IMAX and 3D types of films]. I sincerely LOOK FORWARD going to this theater, once or twice a week, because there's ALWAYS something BEAUTIFUL/FASCINATING/SPECIAL playing thereā£šæš¤©šæā£If you haven't been, YOU DESERVE TO GO & TREAT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMagic Lantern has two theatres, a large theatre (100 person capacity) and a small theatre (30 person capacity). I saw "Free Solo" in the small theatre and it was nice, seats where comfortable, and got some popcorn which was bottomless and served in tin bowls which are reusable. The prices are great ($9 for a ticket, $4.50 for popcorn) and beer/wine/water are also available as well as candy at normal prices. My only recommendation to any theatre attendee or to staff is that they reinforce not blocking the narrower pathway to the right of the movie seats, as it results in patrons having to cross an entire row of seats just so someone has a convenient spot for their purse or...
Read moreThis place is so cute, I love it. We saw Free Solo recently and the theatre was small (30 people), but I like that. It isn't new/modern by any means. They have old chairs and a very dated atmosphere. But that is ok with me, the seats were comfortable enough (comparing to the new recliners) and the décor wasn't bad. More comparable to the Garland (without the booze). Just don't expect a modern AMC or Regal. I really like that they use reusable bowls for their popcorn rather than disposable bags. Honestly don't know the price cause I didn't pay but I thought the location was great as there are a few happy hour options within about a block. I would recommend this...
