The “poolside” rooms are where it’s at! Can only speak for ground floor poolside however it’s a beautiful pool and setup with tons of aesthetically pleasing details from pool chair loungers that are specifically placed in a shallow poolside entry, handicapped accessible pool ramp, color changing lights around the pool, wooden lounge nests, hot tub with two entry/exits (so you don’t have to trip over other guests) and a great side to sit if you don’t want to go all the way in, to a row of food prep sinks, wine refrigerator and electric sliding entryways to your room. We had little interaction with staff but what we did have along with our request were very professional and timely, the room was CLEAN with more than a tiny garbage can (that always drives me crazy when I book suites with private bedrooms and living area because our family is so large and often with tiny kitchen areas but it’s always a half sized bathroom type garbage that we overfill just unpacking and since housekeeping no longer comes daily I get irritated with finding a dumpster or living with bags of garbage so yes this is a big pro for us lol!). Room decor/vibe is very modern and up to date and I very much liked all the attention to detail (two of us are a bit OCD and notice a lot of little things most would not so it takes a lot to check this box with us!). The only thing we didn’t love which we are shocked about considering the quality of this hotel was the actual bed and pillows…. Not even close to being great and the first morning I woke up with a migraine from the crummy pillows and support which may be a different preference for others so I’d suggest bringing your pillow if you have a preference or favorite to be sure because these pillows felt very small and almost like wanna be down polyester that perhaps looks or sounds better than it is. If we’d had remembered to pack our pillows i think the bed would have been fine and probs would have been able to sleep solid instead of tossing and turning. It’s a VERY busy hotel and clearly the word is out about the poolside rooms so if you want peace and quiet or no children then this is not place for you however if you’re looking for family friendly where your children won’t be side eyed and you can really enjoy being with them rather than worrying about them bothering other guests then this IS your place!!! So many happy children of all ages and busy up until the pool closed and we loved it for that reason. I saw people hosting birthday parties and really using all the amenities rather than the typical place where you find yourself worrying about your children being to loud. With all that said I can’t say I ever noticed any of loud pool noise or traffic once from inside our room so it wasn’t any sort of problem or nuisance when trying to nap or find some quiet time. We didn’t use the gates but it appears to have a direct connection to the riverside trail as well. For a large family with a wide spread of preferences and tastes this one has hit all the marks and I was pleasantly surprised by the costs versus...

Such a fantastic place with a 17 year old life guard on a power trip! Unbelievable experience! If you want to be treated disgustingly by a lifeguard, go here! I had my kids at the pool (one of them is 14) while I was helping to set up a function around the corner from the pool. My 14 yr old called me to say the lifeguard said they had to have a parent or adult there so I went to the pool to be with them. I was on the phone with my adult daughter when I got to the pool and started walking with my kids to the lounge chairs we had our stuff on. The lifeguard interrupted me while I was on the phone to tell me he needed to talk to me. I asked what about. He asked what room we were in and I told him. He asked what name the room was under and I told him. (It was under the friends name who booked the room). He said that's not the name these kids gave me. I said of course it's not because I didn't book the room, my friend did. He then said my kids had been there all day by themselves and that I was a bad parent. I quickly corrected him on both counts! (We had been there about an hour). He then said walk me to your room and show me because I don't believe you are a guest here. I said excuse me! Don't call me a liar again! He said don't talk to me like that. We went back and forth with this dialogue several times until he said, " I'm going to get you kicked out of here. We're going to talk to the manager." I laughed and told him that was a great idea, let's go! We walked down the hall as he was talking to his coworker stating that I was a terrible parent... which he stated several times. I spoke with the manager on duty about this punk and he actually slightly defended him stating that he was new and had always done a good job but this should never have happened and that he would talk to him. No apogogy. Absolutely nothing! Are you freaking serious!?!?!? I told him I went to the pool when my son called me and that should have been the end of it but my kids and I were harassed by this power tripping boy that thought he was king kong. Horrific treatment! So unbelievably unprofessional! My kids were beside themselves! And the manager said it shouldn't have happened! Are you serious!? I go there regularly and know many of the staff members. Our group booked functions there 2 nights in a row because I've always had excellent experiences there. I can't stand the fact that we gave them our business!!! The manager, Troy, did absolutely nothing! I will never again bring any business to this place! If you can excuse an employee treating a guest this way, you're disgusting! There are so many other wonderful hotels to stay at in Spokane. Please pick any others such as the Davenport, Ramada, Hampton Inn, Springhill Suites, etc. I've stayed in all of these places many times and never had a bad experience. They are true leaders in the hospitality industry. I would have expected more from this place. So incredibly disappointed. Thanks for turning this experience into a trauma for my kids! Class act...

HORRIBLE! Update from my last 5 star review. I chose this hotel as I stayed here my last trip. My last trip was just one night. This trip was 2 nights. First night here I was awakened by hotel staff trying to get into the room, they couldn’t, they came back and tried again with several people outside the door. I got up and went to the front desk, was talked to and treated extremely rude. Instead of admitting they messed up and checked me out early by mistake..she ended up acting like she fixed the issue after talking nonstop about how much another night will cost. I said I have the receipt, she said we don’t deal with 3rd party sites. When I checked in they said “we have you for a 2 night stay”, on my parking pass it also shows check out as 8/27, on the drink voucher exp as 8/27. They checked me out on 8/26 by mistake then moved me back in.. I left the hotel then came back to speak with a manager, I let the manager know the employee was very rude to me, she got offended and said it was rude of me to call her staff rude. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY?? Then started getting short and rude with me herself. Instead of acting like an actual manager and help the hotels guest you decide to care more about your work mates feelings. Instead of addressing what happened to your guest you want to defend each other . guess what, this isn’t your hotel, you work here. Y’all go on and defend each other instead of apologizing for your mistakes.. at one point I said, on my first trip down here to the desk she should have just apologized, instead of putting on that whole show of attitude .. the manager said “well I just did apologize”. I will not be back to this hotel and will do my best to make sure every available avenue for me to let people know of my terrible experience and help others avoid ruining there trip..so potentially doesn’t...

Ruby River Hotel, Spokane, Washington, USA This hotel is located just 5 minutes drive from Spokane city centre. This Washington hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool and year - round large hot tub. A cable TV, microwave and a refrigerator are offered in all of the guest rooms at Ruby River Hotel. Each room features a work desk. It is conveniently located in downtown Spokane with a short 12 minutes drive to Spokane International Airport. There is a free parking, Fitness Center and a Restaurant on site. It is rated that couples in particular like this location but I think it is more of a family hotel. I liked the fact that the hotel was on the river adjacent to the river walk. It is a pet friendly hotel. #hotel #spokane #spokanewashington #rubyriverhotel #familyhotel #fyou #traveling

This was our second stay at Ruby River. The rooms are very clean and updated. The location is right on the river walk and close to Gonzaga. Great pool and hot tub. They no longer have coffee in the lobby but give you a drink ticket for either a beer, wine or coffee instead. There is also a Keurig type coffee maker in the room with 2 decaf and 2 regular coffee (but only a total of two sugar and creamer packets). I would recommend staying here, but on this trip, we had a few issues. Our bed was missing the fitted sheet. We wanted to lay down a bit before going out, but had to deal with the sheet issue. We asked the front desk to have house keeping put on a bottom sheet (the top sheet was directly on the mattress pad). They said they would take care of it right away and offered an additional drink ticket to use while we waited (one ticket for two of us. - we asked and got a second). We went to have a beer at the bar and since it was busy we had to stand at the bar (although there was an employee having her shift drink taking up two stools right next to us). The bartender was not very good. I could barely get his attention and then he never looked at us again for the next 30 minutes. We went back to the room finally and the sheet was still not fixed. Back to the front desk and asked the same host about the situation. She seemed confused and we had to explain the situation again (I would think missing a sheet would stick out in your mind). She then called housekeeping again and told them we wanted an extra sheet added. ahh - no - not an extra sheet, just the fitted sheet that was missing. No apology or anything for the wait. We left and came back a few hours later and they had put the sheet on. The first host to check us in was great and I hope the bartender and second host were just a fluke.
