Came here for a work lunch with my entire office. It was the first time for any of us. We selected a bench and sat down to review the menu. No one came to take our order, then someone noticed that we order at the counter. So we all stood up and stood in line to order our food. When it came time to pay, the lowest amount of tips that was selectable was 18% and no tip.
I have a rule these days. If I stand up to order, no tip.
They gave me a little stand with a number and several minutes later, brought us our food. But they messed up several of our orders. We didn't complain, we are a large group that ordered all at once.
I got the chicken strips with garlic fries. The garlic is that fake garlic seasoning or something, but worse was how soggy the fries were. A few others in my group got the cajun fries, and they were good. My chicken was ok, but small. 3 small strips on top of soggy fries and no sauce. Expensive mediocre lunch.
A few people wanted to play games, only to discover that the golf and some other games where extremely expensive. I don't remember what they were charging, but we just spend a bunch on food!
When we stood to leave, and headed for the door, we left our plates on the table. Someone from the bar yelled over that we bus our own tables! The amount of complaining I heard from my co-workers was unfathomable! Thats when I learned most tipped between 20-30%!
A message to this establishment and others like it: If you ask for a tip, offer service....
Read moreEdit: After calling to resolve the double charge, the manager reached out and not only refunded the second payment but the original payment. From what I could gather, he did this out of remorse for the rough service that I had experienced as stated below. Additionally, to further make up for the rough night, the manager has offered a free little package deal of pizza and a couple drinks for me to redeem should I visit again. All of this, is extremely generous of the manager. I would like to thank the manager for his kindness and empathy for my rough first experience at the restaurant by changing the overall review to 5 stars and the customer service to also 5 stars. Thank you, Eric and I look forward to a new night at the Flatstick PUB.
Original Review: The food was extremely overpriced and not good. The pretzel was burnt. The cashier never notified us that our drinks were ready and left them out. But the worst part, as I was paying for it all, the cashier canceled the transaction. I believed instantly this was because I did not want to tip for the poor food and service and he did not feel that was just. I didn’t want to argue and cause a scene, so I just tipped him just to shut his mouth so I could leave. The original transaction wasn’t actually cancelled though and I got doubled charged on my debit card. One of the worst restaurant experiences...
Read moreMy family visited FlatStickPub on Saturday, July 24, and it was a really fun outing. We went to play putt putt and I was impressed with the course. Although it is just 9-holes and doesn’t take up much surface area, I appreciated how unique and imaginative it was. I have never played on something quite like it before. I lived six years in Myrtle Beach, the “Putt Putt Capital of the World” so I have been on several extravagant “Happy Gilmore”-esque courses before. I appreciate those elaborate courses but it was refreshing to play on FlatStickPub’s course as you have to bring a whole different mindset to determine the best angles and strategy.
As for the drinks, you have a choice between craft beer (approx. $6.50 per glass) and premade cocktails (approx.. $10.50 per drink). I ordered the Bavarian Hefeweizen which was pretty good. My wife ordered one of the cocktails but then switched over to the beer I was drinking.
Food was a little pricey but good. We ordered pizza, wings, and French fries (we went with my two siblings and their spouses). The building itself is really cool and the vibe is on-point. Bartenders could be a little nicer and smile a little more. Overall I would recommend FlatStickPub and...
