Tilson Homes — Local services in Spring

Working with Tanya was great. She answered all of our questions and was very helpful. We went to look at different finishes at other sales locations, and everyone was great. Picking out finishes was fun and easy. The problem came when we went to build. Framing took months. Weeks would go by with no progress. Our projected finish date came and went. Five months later, we were begging to close. We closed. Several trim items weren’t finished. Our house was filthy after we got our keys. We moved in and noticed a sewage smell in the kitchen. It turns out they put up drywall before plumbing was finished. They had to cut into our drywall and kitchen cabinets to cap off a pipe. Several of our cabinets and drawers have off center knobs. They replaced them all but one. We paid for stub outs for a future half bath upstairs that is useless because of the a/c duct work in the way. DON’T CHOOSE TILSON. We have had a HORRIBLE experience with Tilson. We have had three water leaks. Two that led to water sitting between our foundation and floor. It took them two months to even pull floor up. They did send about 5 different people to come out and take pictures 5 different times before lifting a finger. Another leak in my ceiling from the AC in the attic, due to poor duct work, and a few other things with the AC. Back door was too small for the frame, nails popping out the ceiling. Yesterday, two days after finally getting my floors done. From the first water leak in May. (It is now September) They didn’t connect my washer properly and water drained all over my house, two pieces of my furniture have water damage, Servpro is out here again. Turns out they weren’t even allowed to disconnect it the way that they did. List goes on. We are having to higher a new home inspector, Who I’m sure will find so many problems. In my opinion and experience, Tilson Homes could have delivered a better product and customer experience. We watched and documented every phase of the build from start to finish. I will not complain about the price of the home. However, the craftsmanship and products used were of poor quality. I will not go into detail about the many problems we experienced. I will admit our construction manager tried to correct the errors made by the contracts, but too many things went wrong to change the facts and my opinion. To our friends, the home looks beautiful, but only Tilson and I can see the flaws of the house. I will not be recommending Tilson Homes to my friends and family.
