Fuzziwig's Candy Factory — Local services in Steamboat Springs

Great candy store which also has cute gag gifts like the fake gum that zaps you. Based on my experience there yesterday, the owners are also great humans. Here’s what happened: my 4 yr old son and I stopped in while on our weekend trip to Steamboat. We bought $16 worth of candy and gag gifts that my son was SO excited about. We then went down the street to a restaurant, and while we were waiting for our food my son had to use the bathroom. We left our jackets on our chairs, full drink on the table and all of his candy and toys there, some he hadn’t even opened yet. While we were in the bathroom for probably less than 5 mins, an employee bussed our table and threw away all of my son’s stuff from the candy store. (It should have been obvious that we hadn’t left, but that’s another story.) Anyway, my son was so sad and disappointed, so of course after lunch we had to go back to the candy store to re-buy all of his stuff, which I was pretty bummed about because we had bought it the first time less than an hour ago. While checking out the cashier said “Hey, am I going crazy or weren’t you all just here?” I explained what happened and that we were re-buying his stuff that the restaurant threw out, and the lady next to the cashier (who I assume was the owner) told the girl “Don’t ring her up” handed me the bag and said don’t worry about it; just pay it forward. I told her she didn’t have to do that but she insisted. So incredibly nice of her and really put me in a better mood; and was a great teaching moment for my son about the power of small acts of kindness! My daughter sneezed during covid and when I asked at the door for a tissue or anything to wipe her nose the employee said they didn't have anything and we should walk to the bookstore. We came back to get candy and saw that there were napkins all over the store. They laughed (at the Karen) and stated that they must not have heard me. Excellent place to try and buy an infinite variety of candies, chocolates, ice creams, literally they have here many desserts that I have never seen in other places, not even in recognized candy stores in New York, San Francisco or other big cities, perfect place to visit with children, they will love it.
