This is the sorriest Post Office Ever. I have had two checks stolen from their outside Post Office boxes. Both checks were to be mailed to a location outside the state of Georgia. The first one was stolen in 2011 and was written to and addressed to a security monitoring system located in Wichita Kansas. The check had been washed with the amount and name of payee changed. The name of the payee was altered from "Protection One" to "Kelly Faultersak" of Stone Mountain, Georgia. She cashed the newly washed check at a 24 hour check cashing service. DeKalb county police investigated and pulled the tapes from the establishment and had her on film cashing the check using her own name. U.S. Postal Inspectors were alerted and an investigation was launched which was relayed to me by a phone call from a Federal Investigator.
The second check that was stolen out of their outside box was in the middle of a row of three boxes at the street. This was stolen on 12/15/2013. I drove up to the box at about 11:30 P.M. on 12/14/2013 and deposited my mail addressed to a processing center located in Delaware. At 4:30 A.M. I got a call from a joker asking me if my refrigerator was running. This check was completely washed. The date on the check at the top had been backdated from 12/15/2013 to 12/11/2013. The payee name was changed to "Teatwan Burns" for the new amount of $1,997.63. He went straight to "Bank of America" on 12/15/2013 and opened a new Checking account in his name so he could deposit the newly stolen loot. He then turned right around and tried to withdraw all of the cash from the account he just opened. He made three separate unsuccessful attempts at this before I got a call from "Bank of America's" Fraud detection department. He had forged my signature. Once I confirmed that I had not written the check, "Bank of America" froze his account and transferred the funds he stole back into my account.
I reported this incident to the supervisor at the 5181 W. Mountain St, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 and found her to be rude with interruptions on every other sentence I spoke. She was argumentative with me saying that I did not know for sure that the mail was taken from her outside box. "No one else had any complaints about mail being stolen from the outside boxes." I ask her to review the security cameras outside the post office and she said that she could not do that. She was so defensive and argumentative that she had to get another Postal employee to talk to me. I had to remind her that her constant interruptions when I was speaking was rude and socially uncalled for. I told her that I was not personally out any money with this incident but was alerting them to a problem that they have refused to address. She refused to forward any of this information to the Postal Authorities and said it was my responsibility.
The only good thing I can say about this Post Office is that the Postal employees working the front desk seem to be doing their best and my Postal carrier...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis the WORST damn post office I have ever dealt with in my entire life of living. So on Nov 13 2015, I ordered an outfit and contour makeup set from amazon, for a Bday dinner I will attend on Sat. So Amazon had free 2 day shipping. The Item will be delivered on Sunday Nov 15 2015. I received an alert coming from amazon that the package was delivered on Nov 15 at 4:15 pm est. I was at home all day, no one came to attempt to knock on the door, let alone the package was not at the front door. So I received a second alert that all items was delivered at 4:15 pm 11/15/15. I checked my mailbox on 11/16/2015 which is Monday no package, checked with my apartment complex that advise there was no package delivered as well. So I contacted USPS Stone Mountain and spoke with a CSR which was a older woman. I advised her of my concern she stated that the package was delivered at that time. However the only thing she can verify is by GPS that will advise her where the items are located. She placed me on an extended hold. Someone else came back on the line to ask for tracking number and basically I had to repeat my self all over again. She placed me on a hold to check the status for me. When she came back on the line after waiting a total of 15 mins, she said to call back in the morning where they will advise the carrier and pretty much go from there. I called back this morning 11/17/15, a woman picked up the phone and slammed the phone down while I was on the line. Called back and spoke with a rep name Daryl. I had to repeat the entire story. However he seemed like the only one that wanted to assist me. What Daryl advised me after he researched my tracking info, is that the carrier delivered my package to the wrong address. The carrier delivered my items to the Apartment complex next door to my apartment complex. I find that very impeccable and very disappointing. However Daryl said he will call me back after 3:30p today to advise me of the next step. I waited for his call back, I never got one. Now what Daryl did advise is that amazon has a contract with USPS to just drop off the package and not sign for it, usually amazon is the one that will credit you back for something like this. However that would not be in USPS hands. However it is in the carrier hands where he delivers these packages. I feel that the company needs to hire employees that will simply do their job effectively and correctly. This is a huge inconvenience to me and im sure to others. I will be speaking with corporate regarding this issue. No customer should have to go through complete hell just to verify where their package is. USPS is too big of a company to hire C class employees. I Hope they see this. Daryl was the only Rep to actually assist me effectively and that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was called on a Sunday morning stating that my package was at the post office and for me to come Tuesday (due to Monday being a holiday) before 10 am to pick it up. I get to the post office at around 9:15 (they opened at 8) and asked to speak to a manager. The rude clerk stated that I had to wait in line even though I explained that it was time sensitive. I waited in line for over 45mins with other people while the clerk wiped the desk and sorted pens and when I finally got to the front, they told me there was nothing they could do because my package wasn't there. I left because I was already late for work and called the same number that called me the previous Sunday. The manager that answered stated that she wasn't the one who called me but would call the other manager at home and ask about the package and call me back. I attempted to call back multiple times and was continuously hung up on and NO ONE ever called me back. I finally got the person who originally called me on Sunday on the phone on THURSDAY and she told me that they sent my package back the same night that I came up to the post office to get it . I asked her what could be done about this and she told me nothing. She states that she isn't sure why no one could find it as she left it in a specific area. Most of the people working in the front office have been absolutely no help. The mail is backed up as it is and I have already been waiting for almost a month for this package which was supposed to be a Valentines Day gift only for them to return it to the sender even after I came to the post office to claim the package. As far as I am concerned someone else should be running this office especially since I wasn't the only person complaining about the service that day. The office opened at 8am and when I walked in around 9:15 there was a line of about 10 people waiting to be assisted; most of which decided to leave before the lady finished wiping down the desk. I heard someone at the front of the line state that they had been there for more than 30 mins before I had even walked in. Someone came in to get an application and the guy at the front desk rudely handed it to him and yelled next in line. No wonder the service here is terrible. Even someone who wants a job here to help them out was givin an attitude. Above all I was late clocking into work because of this circus and it wasn't even worth it because I STILL don't...
