Let me start by saying that I have been a Weeyums fan and frequent customer for almost 25 years now. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and chat with Weeyum directly throughout his business growth and development. Today, they have truly lost a customer and respect based on a situation with my order today. When I placed my UberEats order (as I always do each week!!), I was told by some smart and fresh mouthed worker with a bunch of attitude that stated, You asked for all these extras and didn’t pay for it”. Mind you, Uber eats allow merchants to give customer options to PAY for extras (like cheese, onions etc), which is reflected on my receipt attached. The girl proceeds to tell me (and I hear Weeyum in the back on the grill yelling about my order by way of the girl) “well you got an attitude and I’m trying to tell you that you didn’t pay for all of that and I can only give you 1 sandwich”, when I clearly paid for 2 (Uber eats price $77). I immediately and politely (because she was amped up for no reason) tried to explain that she should look at the receipt again because she will clearly see that I PAID for my extras (see receipt), I guess her lack of intelligence, lack of customer service, unprofessionalism and attitude prevented her from verifying my order. Since I heard Weeyum in the background speaking, I politely asked to speak to him directly (especially as the OWNER and manager who could clearly validate my paid for order), in which he declined.. I begged to speak with him again and the girl got an attitude and literally hung up. As a black woman, patronizing black owned businesses is prime for me, because I am a successful small business black owner. However, when you come across nasty, rude, crass customer service, it discourages people from patronizing black businesses in my area, like Weeyums. Unfortunately, black businesses receive negative feedback because people think that all black businesses are like Weeyums. Upon reading the reviews, I am honestly now not surprised of the level of service I received, because the complaints are too similar and have gone on too long to not be addressed. As an avid and loyal customer, I wanted to give Weeyum (the owner) the benefit of the doubt to rectify the issue his employee created and exacerbated, and my service was IGNORED AND DISMISSED. If Weeyums can’t handle taking orders from third party services or can’t extend polite customer service beyond in person pick-ups, get off the platform. Other merchants are successful and have no issues with this… but Weeyums??? You guys are wasting peoples money and time and it’s not fair, because you are essentially offering a service that you are not willing to be polite and kind to deliver. Horrible service!!! After 25 years, I’ll never patronize again!!
By the way, I tried Big Dave’s Cheesteaks the same day (obviously craving my weekly regular) and was met with pleasantries and satisfactory customer service. This is not an attempt to bash your business, but it’s an opportunity to Do better!! It would have taken NO time for someone to carefully review my receipt and notice that they were wrong.
By the way; my order was $77, but it says $0 since I got a...
Read moreStop by on my way home from the hospital with my sick father. When our order was placed we were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. An hour goes by and we had to follow up on our order. The young lady who took the order told me she didn’t call for us and that our food was not ready. So not only did we sit and wait another 20 minutes before our food came out but then my sandwich was incorrect. When I tell them that my sandwich is wrong not only did no one offer to remake it but I requested a refund because I was unable to wait another hour for another sandwich and was told I had to speak with the owner. Not only was Bill rude and unapologetic for their mishap. He told me he was unable to process my refund because he was on the grill and that it would be done at the end of night. As I tried to calmly explain that that made no sense but he told me he was not happy about refunding for a sandwich that was made. I did tell him I was unhappy that I had to wait too long for a sandwich for it to be made incorrectly. At this time there was still no apology for the wait or for my sandwich being made incorrectly. Now I am being told that a refund would be issued at the end of the night and I would receive a text around 8pm confirming my refund. Not only did I not get a text but Bill decided to call me after 10pm and left a message as if I was trying to be deceitful about who I was. He stated what he thought my name was and that the name on the card was not my name. Of course it wasn’t because my dad paid for the food. He then states that he is unable to refund the amount and that I need to return to the establishment for a cash refund (big inconvenience). So of course now I’m thinking he could’ve had his cashier do that then. Nonetheless I text Bill and advised him of who I was and that I would come sometime before the end of the week as it was an inconvenience for me to have to return to the establish the next business day. He did agree and finally offered to make me a new sandwich but still no apology. I did get my refund and declined the new sandwich but I am highly disappointed in the service received. Usually you witness this type of service from the employees but for the actual owner to be this rude, unapologetic, and just out right disgruntled! My review is not discourage customers from purchasing but for the owner to know I didn’t appreciate being treated this way and hopefully help prevent someone else from...
Read moreWant to be able to grab your sub/food at a good time?? ONLY MORNING & AFTERNOON IS A GOOD IDEA..... DO NOT GO PASSED 4PM, 5PM... YOU'RE GOING TO WAIT ABOUT 2 HRS IF SO. You'll even get forgotten about. For my second time when I went there for a delivery for GrubHub. There was a group of people letting others know arriving at the joint "good luck with trying to get your food on time". Some were even getting their money refunded. Customers were explaining loudly how they had already even put their order in an hour before.
But some advice to this sub joint. Like back where I used to stay there was a sub joint called HUNGRY BEAR... pretty much the same size of the joint like this one.... In order to run this place effectively and efficiently
You need: ((ESPECIALLY WHEN TOO MANY ORDERS ARE COMING IN.)) 2 COOKS (3 WOULD BE GREAT) being able to make multiple orders (at least each cook should make three orders, each at a time) 3 PREPS, those who continue to finish up the subs or etc. & 2 CASHIERS who take orders. 1 JANITOR
Because yeah I hear the food is great and it does look great from what I saw myself...but the business isn't being run the way it should be.
If I order here it'll ONLY definitely be in the AM or before 4pm. It's devastating to see people waiting longer than expected and everyone was complaining in between each other.
Also I had to call the GrubHub customer and tell them what was going on. That I as a delivery driver needed to cancel and continue elsewhere and actually make money because I had already waited 30 minutes after being told "it's almost done, just 10 minutes".. so they lied to me. I arrived at 8:23pm and decided to cancel at 8:45pm. All the customer had ordered was a sub. That's it.
It's my job so, I had to make money, not wait. That's why it's PRE-order, not 'arrive and...
