Party of 1… Pop in pop out… 1st time visit This place has been on the list to check out for awhile.  I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after running some errands. They have a very small parking lot right next to the property. When I arrived all spaces were taken, but I was lucky enough to find free 3 hour street parking close by.   The place has great energy as soon as you walk up, with ample indoor and outdoor seating. They have a nice selection of beers and the bartender let me try a sample.  I decided to order their hazy IPA called “Continue?”. The beers are very reasonably priced.  I took it and sat outside at an umbrella covered table.  Perfect setup for me.  I don’t think Outrun serves food themselves, but there was a 3rd party vendor with a table setup selling plates.  I ended up ordering a second beer and when I returned to my table a couple was now sitting there and we just ended up sharing the space.  I noticed a DJ booth and a small stage for live performers. I am sure as it gets later in the day they have some musical entertainment. This place is kid friendly with a few video games available to keep them busy while the parents sample the beer. Not only kid friendly, but also pet friendly.   I will definitely be coming back!

The wife and I drove up to the east side of the Atlanta metro area to visit some breweries we'd not been to before. The standout for us was Outrun in Stone Mountain. Not a huge selection, but each one we had (we had six 5 oz pours - they don't technically do flights, but sell 5 oz pours so that worked out great for us) was very good. I thought their Marzen an especially nice example of the style. My wife enjoyed most the Fall Of The Neon Pumpkin Spice Stout, which neither of us tasted as particularly coffee or overwhelmingly pumpkin, but more of a spice cake. Very tasty. I thought the Dreadnought Rum Barrel Aged Stout extraordinarily good. It reminded me of a Rum Cake in a glass. At 10.5 ABV, they ONLY sell it in 5 oz pours. It is so easy to drink that I can well understand why. This is well worth a stop if you've not been there before.

Nestled near the base of Stone Mountain is a small refurbished garage that serves as a portal back to the 80s. Fittingly named outrun, it’s a beautiful little spot that embraces its Outrun AESTHETIC heavy. But it’s more than just style, there is a lot of substance here. The slowpour associated brewery has some of the best beers I had on my brewery crawl that weekend. It was a last minute addition to the trip so I didn’t have space for everything but the Sarasota fruit salad was a delicious, crushable pour that took me back to beaches of Florida. Dreadnaught was a tour de force of the tongue. Heavy on the booze but still allowed the other flavors to come through. As a fan of this style of stout i can say it’s hard to get right and this is one of the few who’ve got it. Definitely worth the drive and your time.

I would give this place a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the bad experience I just had with the bartender. I was the only person at the bar waiting to order as soon as he finished pouring for the person ahead of me, and a couple walked up and started chatting with him like they know each other. After being patient and waiting for his reunion to end, I had to interject when he took their order like I wasn’t even there.

I don’t need chatty bartenders, but some social skills are needed. This is a learned skill in grade school. Not hard to be courteous and poor a glass for someone…

Edited because a staff member reached out and apologized and also because other than this one bad experience, even though left a sour taste in my mouth, doesn’t warrant less stars as this place is pretty great. Wouldn’t mind seeing more choices that aren’t IPA’s or...
