I came into DSW looking for a pair of pink shoes and a pink purse for a speaking engagement the following day. I excitedly found them both.
The pink purse I found was in a section where it stated all purses were $25.00 and under. The shoes that perfectly matched were found in the clearance. Everyone in line behind me was complimenting the match and I was in a great mood.
As I proceeded to check out the sales person Kimberly gave the amount but when I showed her the signage and found another purse that was just like the one I had but in a different color that was marked down.
The purse rang up for more and I asked if sheād ask management to honor the signage price. Kimberly cordially called and management came. However, the 1st manager Ebony came and told me that she couldnāt honor the price of the signage even though there was clearly a red purse marked for that discounted price. She offered me 20% off and said that was all she could do. I asked ācould do or would do?ā I guess my questioning her is what made her call me rude.
Her attitude became dismissive and I was told, āTake it up with corporate.ā I said, āThat defeats them putting you in management if you canāt handle it at this level.ā She then called another manager named Ashley.
Ashleyās attitude was even less accommodating. Management are the faces & voices for DSW & both caused me to leave both items unpurchased. I was given the wrong number to corporate office by Ashley and felt devalued by her and the assistant manager Ebony.
I feel management could stand to use better customer service training. Kimberly the sales clerk showed more candor. I didnāt come in for a hook up I came in specifically for 2 specific items and price was not my issue although I love a deal.
The 2nd manager Ashley condescendling said to me, ā I can help you find a $25.00 purse.ā I was outdone! It wasnāt a $25.00 purse I was looking for; it was specifically a āPinkā purse and I asked, ā So, I should buy that red identical purse for my pink shoes just because itās $25.00 Ashley?ā
I left frustrated when I came in smiling and without product after I spent gas, took time out of my busy schedule only to come out...

Despite all the billboards saying they love big feet and have sizes going to 16, it's false advertising. I went to three locations based on their ads and I might have only seen 1 size 14 and only in a clearance section. None at all in non-sale sections.
Went to Stonecrest location and while there were no 14's that I needed, my wife found two pair she wanted. We are in the line for checkout and it's apparent that the people in front of us will be a while as there is some level of dispute going on. Not a big deal, we are third in line and how long can it really take? So, they open a second line and beckon the people in front of us. Great, line us moving again and we are second. I run next door to the shoe store closing to see if they have any shoes in my size unsuccessfully and by the time I get back the next line has already checked out the two people behind my wife somehow stating they had been waiting longer. So....we leave the $100+ shoes we were going to purchase on the nearest display and leave. We were the only white people in the store, but I can't help but come the conclusion we were singled out. This was really the biggest problem and I should have led with it, but the other issue provided context.

First of all i was unable to use their curbside service, as advertised, because when i called for assistance i was hung up on before getting the chance to speak, and when i called back i was put on hold for an extended amount of time. I had two small children with me, so i was really depending on the use of the curbside service. I ended up just walking in the store with my children since I was unable to speak with anyone. I had two pairs of shoes to return that did not fit that I ordered online. All I received with each shipment was a āpick sheet.ā The employee questioned whether I even bought them at DSW. Luckily I had started the return electronically and was able to pull up the emails for the returns. When one barcode on the email did not match a the first pair of shoes the employee scanned, she said it didnāt match, and gave me back my phone (email), rather then checking to see if the barcode matched the second pair of shoes (it did). This store lacks any kind of true customer service and I will not be going back or ordering anything online until I am close to a more customer...
