We live in the neighborhood near this place. When my wife called and found out they replace battery for her Cartier watch, she was happy. We brought in her Cartier along with her Phillips Stein watch on last Saturday. The jeweler told us it won’t be done in the same day. We left both watches to them with trust. My wife waited until Wednesday after getting no phone call, she called the store and was told her Cartier was ready. When she asked the store why they didn’t call her, they told her that they did call and it went to a VM box not setup. We couldn’t believe how that happened cuz her VM box works perfectly. On Friday I went to the store to pick up my wife’s watches. The lady behind the counter took both watches out of a plastic bag. They were in the same bag without any protection. She took out the Cartier and put the watch face down. I was surprised to see what she did. I paid the service and they did not want to give me a receipt. I demanded a receipt, they were not happy at my request. I didn’t pay attention to the receipt and took both watches home. I was very unhappy with their attitude. My wife came home and looked at her Cartier, the watch isn’t moving. Then she noticed the receipt marked with a comment: Cartier does not work. We were so surprised and angry at what we saw. How can they not said a word about this?! They replaced the battery for the Phillips Stein but not the Cartier and said nothing. Not when my wife called, not when I was at the store. Before we came to this store we read online that this place is family owned, what kind of family people would conduct business in the way they did? We went online and found more reviews from others and regretted that we didn’t research enough before we chose to trust this place. We are practically neighbors, can’t believe they did what they did. Tomorrow we will go to the Cartier store in River Oaks. We are worried now. Who knows what they might have done to my wife’s watch. This place cannot be trusted.
Update: After receiving owner's response, I am 100% positive that this place is untrustworthy. Please open your eyes and look at the following photos is the evidence. Such dishonest business, makes us feel really...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I got to the shop at 5:57 PM to pick up my pearls for my wedding. They were closed, though the hours are from 9-6. The man who works there was in an SUV with his wife. He saw me approach the store (at 5:57)... So, yes, it's almost closing time but not quite!!!!! After I rang the bell and noticed they were closed (still, not yet 6), my fiancé noticed the man in the SUV had looked at me ringing the bell and left!!!!!!! I saw him at the light and casually asked him if he worked at Elegant Jewelers. He said he did but he didn't own it. I told him it was my wedding day the next day and if he could possibly let me in (since they were not closed)!!!!!! He said no. I would need to call the owner.... With an attitude! I was very kind to him and pleaded with him to let me in and he insisted he didn't have a key.... OK. His wife was in the passenger seat laughing. SO....I can't say enough how irritating and completely unprofessional that was. Now don't get me wrong.... He maybe didn't have a key... But I seriously doubt it. Beyond this, the pearls were not ready when they were supposed to be originally (about a week ago), so, of course, we didn't have a choice but to give them more time. YOU FIRST DONT HAVE MY PURCHASE READY WHEB YOURE SUPPOSED TO, but on top of that, you tell me "not to show up at 5:57 when they close at 6:00"...????? Yes, he actually had the audacity to tell me this. OK. Well, here's some advice for you-if your hours are from 9-6, that actually means that you don't lock your doors UNTIL 6. Imagine that. I know common sense is not all that common, but come on!!!! He simply didn't want to help a customer who had already paid for their service because he wanted to leave a couple of minutes early. Horrible customer service. I am the kind of person who appreciates good customer service.... You know-the golden rule; do unto others. Just take my advice and go...
Read moreUnfortunately, I’ve had a bad experience with Elegant Jewelers. On November 11, 2021, I came in to get my watch’s battery replaced. I purposely went to a stand alone jewelry store instead of a commercial jewelry store. The last time I replaced my watch at another mom and pop jewelry store, they charged me $8. This store charged me $20 for the same watch that I had the battery replaced. I would’ve left but they told me the price after I had it changed. On December 16, 2021, because I noticed 2-3 weeks ago that the second hand on my watch was loose. I came in asking that I noticed this after getting it replaced and they wanted to charge about $35 to fix it. I understand it’s on the front and not where the watch is, but it’s possible it was knocked around at the store and I didn’t notice until I left. I take care of my jewelry and watches. I’ve had it for years and this happens shortly after I have them handle my watch. When I mentioned the price of changing the battery at today’s visit, the lady got very defensive and assumed I went to the mall to get it replaced which was not the case. I try to support small businesses when I can which is why I came to them in the first place, but they’ve lost my business since I was disrespected and...
