I took my puppy to Wolfgang Groomers expecting a proper grooming session, which I assumed included a haircut. What they explained was that the "puppy package" covers nails, eyes, and a bathāwhat they did not make clear was that no shaving or actual haircut would be included. This crucial detail was omitted during the consultation, leaving me extremely disappointed when my puppy came out looking exactly as he did when I brought him inājust as much of a fur ball, and oddly enough, smelling "rank."
To make matters worse, when I questioned the service, the groomer was neither compassionate nor apologetic. Instead, they condescendingly repeated phrases like "as I said" and "like I explained earlier." This defensive attitude not only felt dismissive but also completely lacked professionalism. I was made to feel unheard, patronized, and even disrespected while they happily walked away with $50 of my hard-earned money.
Now, I hesitate to bring this up, but I can't help but suspect that the way I was treated may have been influenced by my being a minority. It felt as though there was an unspoken bias or prejudice, which added an extra layer of discomfort to an already disappointing experience. While I can't say for sure, that was the impression I left with, and I feel it's important to share this perspective for others like me.
On a positive note, I will acknowledge that the groomer did spot a health issue with my pup that needed immediate attention, and for that, I am grateful. However, based on the lack of transparency, poor customer service, and overall disappointing results, I will not be returning to Wolfgang Groomers. However, the groomer we got was a total nightmare for a pet parent. The groomer briefly asked what I wanted, I explained I needed his belly shaved to be neutered then, he suggested getting him shaved low due to itching after etc this was fine by me.After, he said to give him the pup which didnāt go well. My pup was scared being in a strange place, with a stranger as any pet instead of simply reassuring me, he said I should leave to bring his anxiety down (this maybe true) the problem is the manner in which he said it and didnāt even let me finish saying anything else. The second issue I had to ask him how long literally while walking out the store due to his previous comment, he said 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. It took 3 and a half hours before he was finished. When I got home I realized a few things; my pup nails werenāt done, he had a place in the middle of his head that got shaved too low (the next day I notice a little bump in the spot and bruising), the belly was shaved but I clearly saw missed spots, on the back of him, I saw a spot the groomer went way too low in comparison to the body. I was upset and really disappointed; this place is more than many other places. The groomer didnāt say more than it took so long because my pup donāt like people to reach in for him in the cage⦠ummm okay so is maybe a 100 diff pups. I donāt even know the groomers name since he never directly introduce himself to me. I barely every write reviews but, I think everyone should be aware when considering this place. The young lady who work the counter this evening did not greet us as we walked in, to start. She was entertaining her boyfriend he while we looked around. Never asked did we need help. To top off refused us service. š Like I said every year I get my son dog a birthday cake...no different this year. I go to the fridge pick out the cake, before I could take the cake up to her I notice her boyfriend tapping whispering something then she says "are you wanting that cake today"? I reply "yes". Same as I do every year. She tells me no we can write happy birthday on it today because we about to close. It is 630 they close at 7pm I have done it several times before because I pick it up on my way home from work. It wasn't that she denied me service it was her manners and time. I high suggest getting someone else to work in evening with better customer service. After working all day driving in Houston traffic no one wants to treated like blah when spending their money. And I believe she overcharged me as well. I ordered a 6 in cake not made to order cake 25.00 š highly...
