This store serves as a great example of a 5 star grocery shopping experience with a closer look revealing it's many not-so-five-star aspects.
Customer service can change from good to bad like night and day. The experience on a Sunday morning is completely different than that of a Thursday night. For a shopper, this drives us C R A Z Y. One day here it's in & out, with a smile on my face and some savings in my pocket. Another day it's impossible to find an employee who is not on their cell phone, and the two registers that are open have 8 angry shoppers a piece.
Since moving to Texas last year, my wife and I debate on where to go for our monthly food purchasing adventure. I tend to enjoy the H-E-B excursion, while she enjoys the shopper loyalty benefits that Kroger has to offer (ol' Heb doesn't offer any benefits other than in store coupons).
Each month we go back and forth between the two, with an occasional Whole Foods or Wal-Mart thrown in (indefinitely polar opposite examples, each with their own pros and cons, I'm sure you can imagine which has better prices and which has better quality). For the average shopper, you too will most likely have a similar monthly decision as ours. Hopefully this review narrows the decision making process!
This entire store is a bit aged, as is every other Kroger in Houston. They have tried putting renovations in, but the store as a whole still feels 15+ years outdated.
Until the Management gets this store figured out, we unfortunately will continue to bounce around stores each month like nomads wandering a unswept produce section (seriously though, there is always week old fruit/veggies all over the floors!).
Delaney, a cashier rep from a 5/2016 visit, was super helpful despite what looked like a chaotic evening shift. However the rest of the Kroger Krew that night was textbook terrible. Give that girl a raise, or at least some better coworkers.
I've heard they have a decent coffee shop within this store, Cometcash, or something like that.

Read moreI've visited this location 3 times . The first time I visited the store I headed to the deli department for a hot meal. To my surprise I didn't know krogers sold FRESH FRIED CHICKEN , POTATOES AND MAC N CHEESE ,AS SIDES. I spoke with the associate Mrs. Camille Johnson. She was very nice , sociable and very informative! I ended up ordering a 2 piece (Chiplole) chicken plate lunch with 2 sides . She was the cook of the day, the presentation and quality of the food was superior. She placed coverings over the food which kept the food hot and fresh. I appreciate her and associates like her. This is why I choose to return and drive 45mins to this particular location. However, the others 2 times I've returned to this location i did not get the same treatment/ service. Some of the employees and manager were rude and non- sociable. They clearly performed as if they didn't care to be at work .The presentation of the food was horrible and out dated with no coverings. From now on, I will only return to this store / deli department when Mrs. Camille is there/ the cook of the day. She definitely understands customer service and quality. She is the epitome of a great worker who enjoys supporting her company's mission statement. Thank you Mrs. Camille for all you do . I hope this review bring awareness to a great worker because it's too often good workers get...
Read moreEvery time I go to this Kroger it's always a bad experience! I can never find what I'm looking for. When I do find the stuff I am looking for, for example the eggs it's ALWAYS an issue, most of the time I don't find any eggs and when I do find them the ones left there are all broken. There's stuff that's expired out on the shelfs, for example the orange juice! Staff here in not really friendly. When asking for help to find out what benefits I have remaining on my WIC card the lady at self check out said she didn't know how to do that and I told her that last time I was there the guy there helped me out and he didn't know how to do that either but he figured it out, then she asked the lady next to her and she said she didn't know either that I needed to go to customer service, they both said it rude!
This Kroger is a very small location, and it doesn't even have a gas station which it makes it more inconvenience because how are we supposed to use our fuel points if there is no gas station there.
Attached I have pictures and as you can see the date of the picture taken was 1/25/24 and the juice expired on 1/23/24. You really need to keep an eye out when shopping at...
