Had a PHENOMENAL experience with this store and the staff. Came in here at 5:00 in the afternoon hoping to shop for friends with a difficult request (shopping from a fandom I know nothing about, for figures I know nothing about, armed only with a handful of "I think they like these ones" character names) totally disheveled and exhausted after work and dreading the perilous task of trying to find a pair of good gifts that I knew nothing about.
Was greeted by three friendly (but not pushy!) staff members who asked if I needed help (I did. I needed so much help,) Staff spent the next half hour with me, sorting through a MASSIVE case of transformers characters and meticulously determining which ones my friends would enjoy based on a random patchwork of "I think they said they like the purple guy" information. They were unbelievably patient and helpful. I've had experiences before where walking into a niche store, blissfully ignorant, and placing all judgement in the hands of employees resulted in pushy behavior and a massive, unwanted sale. NONE of that happened here. The trio helping me out were super respectful of the budget I outlined and didn't try to tack on any extra sales. I was dreading trying to find presents for my friends, but left absolutely relived and confident they're going to love what we picked out.
Unrelated to staff experience: I really love how this shop is laid out. I've been in a lot of hobby shops that felt extremely claustrophobic--borderline terrifying to move in, lest something breakable get bumped--and the way these guys have an absolute MASS of merchandise organized in this space is great. Everything is visible for easy browsing, but it doesn't feel frightening to move around in here.
10/10 store. Will absolutely...
Read moreI am the father of the little girl who was physically grabbed by your employee 2 years ago and which you are now unprofessionally responding to my wife’s very much true account of what transpired that day. I was present with my family the entire time. At no point did my daughter pick up a toy and break it which you claimed in your response. You also refer to my daughter as he so you should ensure you have accurate information before determining you are going to respond to a 2-year-old review. I stood by and watched as my daughter went to reach for something and the employee that day who was hovering over us the entire time (not necessary because, unlike your response where you essentially call my wife and I out as unable to control our children we very much are in control and would not let them compromise the inherent value of your collectibles) reached and grabbed my daughter’s wrist and pushed her away from the item. The action that day was inexcusable and borderline criminal and your unprofessional scathing response towards my wife simply serves to show you condone such behavior and that you care more for the inanimate things in your store than you do actual living breathing customers who share a passion for...
Read moreI really hate to dog on a local shop as the people working there are friendly. However, the prices on their comic books are way over priced. The owner is completely out of touch from how he prices the wall books /back stock. He doesn't take into consideration the condition of the books and its actual market value. For example, he had a Thor #337 that was heavily sun damaged to the point that literally 99% of the color was faded and yet wanted $100. That's madness when currently you can get a mid grade copy (which is leaps and bounds better than their copy for about that price, give or take). You're literally better off buying books off ebay for a fraction of the cost which is unfortunate. I get it. You guys got bills and overhead to consider so most brick and mortar will sell higher than ebay. Customer Service from a local comic bookstore is important but not at the detriment of the customer having to eat a grossly...
