To be honest I can't full heartedly judge the food as I literally only ate 1 wing from a friend of mine but it was tasty.
My issue is I went there to have a great evening this was my first visit. I left after have a $22 Hennessy bucket, a shot, and a drink with tequila. I did not order food and I sat outside in the green area. The lady came to take my order with her handheld device and I gave her my card (as I saw others doing also). I left first to go to my car and drink water (as they were heavy on the liquor pouring)
I made it home and the next day I checked my account and i had two charges that totaled over $147 dollars. And mind you I never ordered anything to eat.
When I called back to speak to a manager and shared everything from that evening, I was told that sometimes cards are placed for the table, then I was told that people from the table left and said they would come back to pay and never did (mind you I was already gone at this time drinking water in the car trying to rehydrate) , then I was told the new system couldn't split the bill so it refunded the chick that got the wings and charged me for the entire bill.
I shared that no one ever told me my card would be for the table and if they did i would have declined. And why would you let anyone vacate the premises without paying????? I told them no one had a conversation with me about my card being for the table and to just charge my card because I paid for my items and it went through does not make it okay for my card to be charged for items I did not order nor confirm. Business wise it is ethically wrong! And as far as the new system and the staff still trying to learn it I asked how is that my fault or my responsibility??!??!
I let them know that it sounds like a lot of things were being done with little to no communication and I don't understand how I have to take the brunt of that problem.
The waitress I spoke to yesterday said her manager would call when he got in around 8pm. She said she would refund the one charge for a little over $30.00 and he would call to discuss the larger charge. Did I ever get that call...no. When I call it just rings and rings no way to leave a message and at this point it's coming off as lies, overcharging and avoidance.
Trust this will be my last visit and within my professional career and personal relationships I will steer people clear of this conundrum of confusion, dishonesty, and horrible customer service. There are better places with just as fun if not more energetic atmospheres that will be honest and will not use you and your funds as a scape goat when their servers drop the ball and allow people to leave without settling their bill and charging a card just because their payment went through. NEVER ABSOLUTELY NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very...
Read moreThis place is absolutely beautiful on the inside. Unfortunately, our dining experience was not good. We were visiting from Tampa and decided to meet family for a late lunch before heading back. We tasted 2 wings and a slice of cuban sandwich outside before entering because they were advertising, we were happy and decided to proceed. Our "server" asked for our drink order, I stated we will start with water and give a sec to check out the drink menu. He came back 20 minutes later with water....I immediately ordered 2 apps (nachos and firecracker shrimp) for the table, which took 30 minutes to bring out. No utensils, no small plates to divide up the apps we were a party of 7. My husband went into the kitchen to ask for utensils and small plates bc no one was visible.....they were good, however, I nv received the extra Pico de Gallo for the nachos and didn't want to ask for anything at this point. Orders were placed promptly. I ordered a medium skirt steak w/ chimichurri white rice and side cesar salad with tomatoes.....when It came out it was dark I restated I asked for medium, the server said he told the chef but the chef it can only be 1 temperature but no one came back to tell me bc I would have changed my order, my cesar salad had no tomatoes, my son ordered a steak and cheese that had no cheese, my daughter a Chipotle chicken sandwich with provolone no cheese again, yuca fries were dried, member of our party ordered a sandwich without cheese yet it had cheese. Then to find out the server was a bartender, he was pleasant nice personality but no clue on serving and tbh since a manager was there she should have managed. Due to this being a small business I gave verbal feedback yet nothing was made right, she apologized and took my steak off bc it wasn't eaten we still paid full price for EVERYTHING, no offer of free dessert or anything. This is truly the reason I am publishing my honest review. Since we were getting on the road, my husband decided to use the restroom, he came out and said if he had seen the condition of the restroom, we would not have eaten anything from there. I was appalled and definitely disappointed bc again, the decor is nice, good music, but definitely...
Read moreMy first and last visit to this establishment. My friend and I arrived around 3pm after seeing online that Flamingoz offers lunch from 11-4. Upon arriving, we were told to seat ourselves and that our server would be with us “shortly”. We sat for about 15 minutes before someone finally brought us waters, and another 10-15 minutes before our server arrived to take our order.
First red flag: we were told that, prior to ordering anything, we had to put a “card on file”. On the table, there was a QR code menu with three options: Lunch (11-4pm), Food, and Drinks. As it was before 4pm, my friend and I both ordered off the lunch menu, which boasted “Famous $8.99 lunch menu (with beverage purchase).” We each ordered a daiquiri ($15), split one appetizer of Mozzarella Sticks ($10) and we both selected the Lomo Saltado from the $8.99 Lunch Menu options.
Worth mentioning: we both put in our full orders (drinks, app, and entree) all at once because it was the only time the server had come to the table in our 30 minutes of being there.
Now for the food. The Mozzarella sticks were okay, but very obviously came out of a bag from the frozen foods aisle. The Lomo Saltado was a similar experience— well seasoned, but clearly previously frozen. However, we didn’t mind because of what we expected to be a cheap price tag.
When our server finally came back with our checks, we were shocked to see that we were each charged over $55. I asked the server how this could be, as we’d ordered specifically from the $8.99 lunch menu. She said she would have to check, and after running over to the bar, she returned and told us that the lunch menu doesn’t apply on weekends. This, of course, was not specified on any menu in the building (see photos attached), nor is it listed online.
On my final tab, the “8.99” meal came to $22. There was also an automatic 18% “service charge” included, which is astounding to me as the server appeared on two occasions: to take our order, and to take our payment. Nobody ever checked to see if we even liked our food, or if we needed anything after the food was dropped off.
Overall, a highly disappointing experience and intense lack of regard for their own menu pricing. We will...
