If I had one complaint about this place it would be the insulation. It was frigid in some places and warm and musty in others. Honestly, that’s the vibe when you’re in an establishment like this, but it must be noted. As for the living creatures here, I’m not sure if this is the case, but it was clear to me that the cats here are not the kindest cats there are, so maybe this is a living facility for the cats that didn’t get adopted due to said temperment. However, cats are cats, and you can get them to appreciate your company and hand rubs given that you respect how they are. With that being said, I enjoyed my time with the cats here. I enjoyd my time talking with the pleasant staff there and I also enjoyed checking out the vast array of vintage books on sale. I even found a bit of a treasure here which I promptly bought! I believe you have the option of donating extra to help out the cats, so if you’re a cat person like me that’s...
Read moreReally disappointing. Love cats. Love books. I love the concept.
Unfortunately, it smells SO bad from cat pee. My teen didn’t even want to go in. The books we bought smelled like cat pee. Our hands smelled like cat pee after we left. Our 15-20 minute visit literally left me and my husband nauseous for the rest of the day.
Maybe it’s the heat, but serious cleaning and exhaust fan at the minimum are needed. Maybe there is a cat who is stressed out and sprayed? I’m not sure, but the problem needs to be addressed if this business is going to be successful.
If funds are needed, ask for 5 $ per person donation during admission. This could fund purchase and installation of exhaust fan, portable a/c unit, fan, etc. I’d totally have paid that, and think most people would, too or even more.
Hope you guys can get it together and do better for the cats,...
Read moreI have always wanted to visit a bookstore with cats and just happened to walk by one during our stay here in Tallahassee! The decor on the outside was very cool and inviting- I knew I had to visit immediately. Upon entering, they do ask that you close the doors behind you because the cats wander freely through the store. The cats out when we visited were slightly older, so I approached them with caution, but they were very friendly. I especially liked the sign on the wall telling you more information about how to pet a cat, or to tell if the cat wants to be petted. Combined with a cozy environment to shop and read books in, I would have stayed in there for hours...
