Sarku Japan — Restaurant in Tallahassee

I never go to the mall, like hardly ever but this place is Chick-fil-a busy for a reason. This is a great fast food Japanese joint. The food is cooked to order, the prices are very reasonable and oh my word the portions are huge! You can even add double meat for just a couple more dollars. The hot seller is the Teriyaki chicken with fried rice and veggies. Of course you can get white rice if you choose and some people add shrimp to their meals. The cook asks if you want extra sauce on your food and once it's up, you bag and go. You do have to pay for the Yum Yum sauce but it is something near .70. It is "yum yum" (not too thick and not too runny with just the right amount of sweetness) so definitely worth the extra cents. Out of all of the places in the mall, this would be my number #1...

Visiting Tallahassee for a bit over a week for classes and client meetings, I made it by the Governor's Square Mall one evening. Big mistake stopping at Sarku Japan for a simple Spring Roll appetizer.

Spring rolls were ice cold and very "pasty" in texture with no flavor whatsoever. So much so that the included Plum Sauce did nothing to help.

No - I didn't make a complaint to staff as this was a "to-go" order that I started munching on immediately after leaving the mall food court. It was easier to dump the Spring Rolls than to return for a refund.

I should know better than to stop for Food Court Chinese, but I do like egg/spring rolls.

I got the box with the 4 california sushi rolls, 3 dumplings, a side salad, steamed rice and chicken. The sushi was a bit old and dry, but everything else was delicious. I spent about 14$ the box was 10 and i made it a combo for 2$ something more you get a drink and a chicken egg roll. The only thing that really bothered me was the wait time. I was in line for a good while before I managed to order. And then I had to wait a while longer for my box to be made.
