Free People — Local services in Tampa

Pretty disappointed by my experience at this location. I have loved shopping at other Free People stores around the country as I always feel tended to and hyped-up when I’m trying stuff on. I love to get the employees opinions on style and fit but at this location when I asked for opinions from two employees I felt picked apart. I’m not a self conscious person by any stretch of the imagination so this was a new feeling but I walked back to the dressing room having made myself vulnerable only to know that they were giggling and whispering about me as I walked back bc what I had on was too small (which I knew, I was simply trying it on to gauge the color compared to the other color that fit correctly.) It was a shocking experience. Especially because I also work in a higher end retail job and we are trained extensively on body neutrality and guest connection. I was ready to spend $250 on the three things that I loved but I walked out without buying a thing so that they wouldn’t earn commission on me. Decided to buy from a third party instead.

So let down. Good cotton quality is why I gave a 2nd star. They are preshrunk shirts however they are made for a football player shape wide shoulders and really skinny waste. I bought medium based on them being preshrunk. But, So disappointed after buying over $100 in shirts the fit is too uncomfortable to enjoy. I bought a large also to try in hopes to shrink more but no, there is excess bagginess at the top and doesn’t come close to my shoulder width so just fits really odd. Just be cautious on...

Free People has great, unique items of clothing in the bohemian style. However, these clothes are not only extremely expensive, they only fit a certain type of person: models. The length of the clothes are always extremely long and tight to fit the tall, skinny models in their catalogues. If their prices were more reasonable and the fit more intended for normal sized people, I would live at this store. Unfortunately, these aspects of the store prevent me from shopping there for anything but...
