As a 45 year fan of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show, trust me when I tell you that The Rocky Horror Show is not to be missed! From the behind the scenes production, the awesome 5-piece band, to an incredibly talented cast, I don't recall ever having enjoyed any live performance as much as I have this show. Clay Christopher captivates and energizes his audience with his robust and often mesmerizing portrayal of the eccentric Frank N Furter. Brad and Janet will welcome you to follow along as they haphazardly find themselves as Frankie's unexpected guests, but are quickly ensnared into his quasi-diabolical plan to create his very own creature, having secured assistance from an unwary earthling. From there, each and every cast member performs their roles with artistic precision, passion, and unrelenting energy. By the second act, I found myself in tears from laughing so much, and by the closing "all hands on deck" stage show, I am filled with an exuberance that leaves me wanting to start the show all over again. If by chance you doubt my sincerity, my fiance and I have already seen this show three times since the opening, and I will be seeing a fourth time thanks to two extended dates. That being said, " Miss this one at...
Read moreJobsite Theater is a true gem of the Tampa Bay arts scene, and I’ve been hooked since their first production. As an ensemble-based nonprofit professional theater company, they’ve consistently delivered extraordinary performances since the late ‘90s. Whether it's comedy, quirky works, timeless classics, or everything in between, every single production has been nothing short of magical.
The intimacy of their venues makes each performance feel personal and special, pulling you into the heart of the story. Though I live in St. Petersburg, the short trip across the bridge is always well worth it for the incredible theater experience they provide.
Their season passes are reasonably priced, giving you access to an entire year of top-notch performances at an unbeatable value. Whether you’re a longtime theater lover or a newcomer to the scene, do yourself a favor, grab a ticket or, even better, a season pass, and experience the magic of...
Read more"Puffs" at Jobsite Theater is just as silly as it sounds and just about perfect for lifting spirits and calming frazzled nerves. Not ground shattering, dark, or even as profound as most of Jobsites offerings, but boy, is it fun. From the nearly perfect pre-show music to the last perfect aside by the narrator, this show clips along at a pace only state fair performers could match. Put more time on the meter than you think you'll need, it is long, but doesn't seem that way at all (I'd still be sitting there laughing if I could). Buy a ticket, grab a drink (tip the bartender), and settle in for a wonderful, almost comforting night of pure entertainment. Oh, and not one penny of the ticket price or the generous donation you will make to the theater out of shear gratitude, goes to any hater or hateful organization. Worth the price and the...
