I am familiar with the Straz center. My daughter used to take ballet classes and performed in the Nut Cracker and another show yearly, and many years ago, we belonged to the Cloud 9. Seasonal tickets for certain performances in the nose bleed section. On the cheap. When Tampa was just Tampa. Went to see Moulin Rouge tonight, and it was a wonderful show. Sadly, tonight was the last performance, till next season. Tampa seems to have outgrown the Straz center. Long lines for the women's bathroom and elevators. If you have health issues, go early or pay for expensive main floor seating. It was cold and raining tonight. I sure missed the covered pedestrian bridge that connected the parking garage, library, and the Straz center. They tore it down for an apartment complex. Parking is $15 dollars which, compared to other cities, is not bad but the elevator did not work, the stairs were dirty, graffiti and smelled like urine and the elevators were not working still on the way back. I was lucky my wife was with me because I wouldn't have made the 4 flights of stairs. She got the car.The city wants more in taxes and fees and we are getting less. Riverwalk is beautiful just don't go...

I attended Jeff Dunham Show on November 4! The show was amazing! This was my first time attended an event at Straz Center. I was beyond impressed by all the staff. It began In the Steam Heat Cafe where I stopped to purchase a snack & beverage prior to the show. Both the ladies behind the counter were helpful in making suggestions which beverage I would enjoy! I made my selection & headed inside the Morsani Hall. I stopped at the handicapped (I walk with a walker) bathroom & it was immaculately clean. I was then directed to correct entrance to get to my seat. The gentleman walked me down the aisle to my seat & checked that I was comfortable seated. After the show, I stopped at the souvenir area to purchase a t shirt. I then walked out to the valet area to question where is best place to have Lyft pick me up. The lady in the valet area offered to walk me to get in my Lyft. Again, another example of the amazing staff. I plan on attending many more...

The performance of Hamilton was outstanding but when I am asked to give my opinion on a facility, the facility is what I should grade and with that said, the mezzanine level is so poorly staffed when it comes to concessions. I literally watched one person last night order four different drinks and it took the bartender one minute for each drink and we only had 15 minutes of intermission. Being diabetic, I was definitely wanting to purchase something such as Diet Coke or Diet Sprite or something similar but I could not even get near the concession. The facility is very pretty and there are many volunteers that are more than happy to help you but for me specifically, the lack of concessions cause me to think for almost 3 hours about getting something to drink. I guess I could have gone out during the performance but then I felt bad having to cross over people since I'm over 6 ft 2. Regardless, Hamilton was...

Love Carol Morsani Hall and the Straz Center. I've lost track of how many times I've been here. Things to know: There is a parking garage across the street, or you can use valet parking. Everyone has to go through metal detectors before entry. There is a coffee shop right outside if you would like coffee or tea before the show. Inside, you can get wine or beer with ID, bottled water, soda, or other snacks. There are bathrooms on every floor. If you want to go to the Maestro restaurant, you need to make reservations. Can't find your seat? No problem, the ushers are always very helpful. Wheelchair seating is available but you need to make arrangements and buy seats in advance. ASL interpreters are also available if you contact the theater. Have a great time!

We went and saw Les Miserables at the Tampa Bay performing arts Center this weekend and it was fantastic. Part of what made it so great is the feel of the Straz Center. It has a very metropolitan feel. Elegant yet contemporary. We enjoy all three of the venues there as well as the outdoor stage. The riverfront and the outdoor dining are a real treat. There's also an outdoor stage where the center brings in local musicians and gives them a place to get some exposure. These free pop-ups are a great way to sit along the waterfront and enjoy downtown. Check out their site to find out who and when.
