I am at a loss of words to describe how rude and condescending the owner was to us. Upon entering the store, we greeted both of them with a smile and a “Hi, how are you doing today?” Our friendly greeting was returned with silence and a scowl. I found several items I wanted to buy, and waited at the counter to purchase them. The owners continued to stay outside maintaining their condescending glares. We felt so unwelcome and I would even go as far as saying it felt like pure disdain and hatred coming from them. The feeling this experience gave me made feel so upset that I was afraid to go in to any more stores. After we realized she was not going to check us out we left feeling like trespassers. She ran in behind us and shut the store down even though it states they are open until 6:30. Tarpon Springs wasn’t crowded at all so I understand wanting to close early, but I would think the $200 worth of merchandise I was trying purchase would have been gladly accepted during...
Read moreMuch less than impressed with Amvrosia Inc.'s customer service skills! We purchased a set of olive oil and vinegar decanters in a stainless steel rack. I got them home, filled them up only to discover a PUDDLE of vinegar on my dining room table the next morning that left BLEACHED OUT spots in the marble!! A few days later (we live almost an hour from Tarpon, couldn't get back right away) my husband brought his receipt with the store business card attached to it back to Amvrosia. The woman REFUSED to replace the broken bottle saying they have a no return policy. He was not asking for a return. He was simply asking for her to give him merchandise that was NOT DAMAGED! She still refused to give him another boxed set and instead gave him ones that had been on display. She was rude and argumentative to my husband who was still in his MILITARY UNIFORM! I will NEVER GO BACK...
Read moreWe took visiting Minnesota friends Paul & Patty to Tarpon Springs. The best part of that day was shopping at Amvrosia Gift Shop. Whenever we go to Tarpon Springs we always shop at Amvrosia...it is our 'go-to' place. The prices are more reasonable then at the shops on the main street, the selections are plentiful and the shop is close to the main street so it's easily found. The shops owner Kelly Spiliotis was delightful, helpful, up-beat and accommodating. We bought hand made soaps and facial sponges. Patty (from MN) had a positive shopping experience because of Kelly's friendly banter sprinkled with her Greek accent and up-beat personality. Kelly took a 'selfie' with us that...
