Over the past few weeks of me going to disc replay I’ve noticed a few changes some good some bad but in most cases the bad outweighs the good for example the prices on blu rays have gone up quite a bit there are still a few with the 2.99 price tag which is a plus but there is a lot less than before also there seems to be new staff I’ve been going to this location for maybe 7 or 8 years and I’ve always enjoyed the staff they were nothing but helpful and even sometimes Lowering a price on a blu ray or dvd because they felt it was an overcharge im not sure how they decide how much something should cost I think they use eBay or something like it to place a price tag on things but I’m not sure if that’s true anymore because i recently went in to the store to purchase infinity war ,Thor ragnarok, and endgame with endgame being the cheapest of all three blu rays at 2.99 which I can always appreciate but the other two were 14.99(Thor) and 9.99(infinity war) the problem was there was no price tag on infinity war so I brought it up and asked how much it was the worker told me it would probably be like .99 cents and i laughed because I thought he was joking but he looked at me with a straight face while I was laughing and like I mentioned at the end of the check out process it ended up being 9.99 which he never told me I had to look on the receipt and the time before that I was overcharged for some blu rays luckily I checked the receipt and saw it before I left and it was oddly enough the same guy “joking” about the price of infinity war so I don’t know if I did something to make him upset because I brought up the over charge the previous time or if it was just him trying to joke around it just seemed odd when someone is joking they shouldn’t look at you with a straight face especially if I’m actually wanting to know the price and he never actually told me the price of it he just told me the total which was around $28 so my original question was answered with a joke and I didn’t even get the to see the price until I looked at the receipt but back to the eBay situation I checked the prices on eBay and all of them total plus shipping was less than I paid for it in store by a considerable amount with the exception of endgame so I’m not sure how the pricing is working I have always been willing to spend a little bit more for things at disc replay as it helps keep them open just like any other business but now there’s like no deals anymore it’s buy 5 get 1 for DVDs and Blu-ray’s when it used to be buy 2 get 1 for blu rays and for DVDs it used to be buy 3 get 6 or it might have even been higher like buy 3 get 9 I know it’s one of those I just have been going to disc replay for so long and always enjoyed spending my money there to get some good stuff in return but recently it hasn’t been that same store it has been almost a completely different store almost like some of these places trying to make a quick buck off of customers which I’ve never experienced before these last two times I’ve went Im hoping things change in the future because I don’t want to stop going there as I enjoy shopping there but if things get any worse I might have to resort to going...
Read moreI recently went here for the first time the other day and unfortunately it will probably be my last.
At first my experience was fantastic with people who I believe were on the day shift, they were helpful, attentive, and answered all of my questions. I ended up deciding to purchase two game systems and a various amount of games. I wish the day shift folks would have stayed over for just a few more minutes because this is where everything positive about my visit ends.
I was browsing the aisles looking for a specific game when apparently a shift change occurred, and when I returned to the counter there was an entire new set of people there. So upon deciding to check out, I had to tell the guy at the cash register, 3 different times what all I was purchasing that the day shift set aside. (He kept getting distracted and saying I'm so sorry what were you buying again?) 3 times. Come on man.. But the incompetence does not end there. I guess a couple of the games that I wanted that were on the shelf they did not have, so I was told to go find a replacement, this happened with 2 different games. Whatever it happens.
So the one game I ended up choosing as a replacement was $11.99 and the original one I wanted was $22.99.. he did not take the more expensive one off in the computer so essentially I paid $22.99 for an $11.99 game which I have documented on my receipt. So that's strike two.
The overall gross incompetence of this cashier was astounding. It took me, no joke, approximately 50 minutes to complete my checkout. Halfway through our first transaction he apparently pressed the wrong button and it deleted the entire sale so we had to start over again, then I asked him if he needed some assistance and he replied in a snotty tone "nah man we good." Strike three.
By this point I'm visually frustrated, and let me also add that the store was not slam packed busy there were multiple employees that could have came and helped and the frustration was growing among the line of people behind me as well because everyone was seeing how incompetent this guy was at the cash register. It was seriously astounding, this gentleman doesn't ever deserve to be near a customer again nor your cash register to ring people out again he is a danger to your business and will only piss off your customers.
For management: The guy I'm referring to, because I didn't care to catch his name, works on the afternoon shift, is black, appx. 23 years old, bald, and has glasses. I was in store 11/27 @ Appx 4pm ish and bought a PS3 and PSP.
I spent almost $400 here my first time here and was looking forward to being a regular customer, but thanks to this guy I will never ever be back, not only did he steal $11 from me, (which again I have documented on my receipt) but his attitude, lack of ability to ask for assistance, and the fact that it took me almost an hour to pay for my things and leave your store is absolutely ridiculous.
The only reason I'm giving you two stars instead of one is because your day shift people are absolutely amazing! The girl that was working with me at first when I walked in is absolutely amazing and she is a gem but other than...
Read moreI wanna start by acknowledging a few things... 1) the purchase from Disc Replay Taylor I'm disgruntled over occurred over a year ago. 2) I don't have the receipt anymore. 3) Considering 1) and 2), I was aware it was a long shot that I'd be wholly satisfied with the outcome.
I purchased a Google Pixelbook (2017 version, model COA, development code name Eve) from the Taylor Disc Replay in March 2022 as a spontaneous gift for my wife to use for the learning modules for her personal trainer certification. They had it labeled as the upgraded version with an i7 CPU and 16GB RAM, so at $300 I figured it was a reasonably good deal.
ChromeOS doesn't can't meet her use case needs any longer, so I undertook the lengthy effort to transition it to a Linux distro. This was the first time I ever used the computer. Well, as it turns out, it is not the upgraded model with an i7/16GB. Instead, it's the basic model with an i5/8GB. I just happened upon this when flashing the new UEFI firmware.
Frankly, I wouldn't have bought the i5/8GB model regardless of price. At $300, though, it's a terrible deal.
I went to the Taylor Disc Replay the other day, just to see if they'd be willing to work with me to maintain a satisfied customer. My desired outcome was they comp me a $65 pair of earbuds and call it a day. That is, I'd keep the computer and also a pair of ear buds, so essentially I'd have paid $235 for $215 worth of stuff. Like I said, I knew this was a long shot seeing as it had been so long and I didn't even have a receipt. The best I could do was bring the computer to show it's an i5/8GB, along with a screenshot of my account with a $300 charge to Disc Replay.
They did not agree to this. Their counter offer was to buy the computer back at 50% of it's value (which is apparently more than their standard rate), and I could use that to get the ear buds. At first I thought they at least meant 50% of the i7/16GB model - the model they falsely advertised. To my surprise, however, they meant 50% of the i5/8GB, which sells on eBay for ~$150, so $75. I mean, that would essentially mean I paid $295 for a pair of earbuds. I figured $300 for a $150 computer was the lesser of two ripoffs. I mean, if I was pulling a con, it'd be the worst con ever. Their con, however, was top notch.
What makes it worse, though, is all they had to say was, "sometimes things slip through." They didn't even question my claim. There wasn't even a genuine, "I'm sorry." They didn't seem surprised nor concerned whatsoever.
A fourth acknowledgement is that ultimately it is my own fault for not checking sooner. The old adage "buyer beware" certainly lives at Disc Replay Taylor. I'd have to implore anyone considering a purchase here to verify you're actually getting what you're paying for. Considering their business model, I'd imagine seller must beware as well. Likewise, I'd be sure to do adequate research prior to selling anything. Better yet, I'd say just...
