QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Taylor

I have ordered food from this location plenty of times. The last few times I have ordered with my staff it has been unpleasant. They always claim that their online system is down and they did not receive the order. Mind you every time we order it's at least a $60 bill. Ordering online is convenient because we are ordering for our company staff and it makes convenient but we never receive anything saying the system is down. Seems like there should be a better solution to this recurring issue. The reason for this review is because today for the numerous time they did not get our order. On top of that the manager approached me and explained to me in a hurried manner that they were out of ground beef. She was not apologetic or caring that I had to wait for them to make our order and that now they are out of ground beef. I asked to cancel an item on the order we placed because one of our staff members only wanted ground beef. She then explained as if it was such a bother to her that she would need a copy of the CC number. Well that wasn't a problem because I was prepared with it unlike this Taylor, MI Qdoba location. She made me write the information on a receipt paper with a big black marker then proceeds to tell me she will refund it later cause she is busy. She leaves the paper laying right next to the register where anyone can see it or take it. I explain to the cashier that I am uncomfortable with that so she moves it underneath the register. Qdoba is the cat’s meow. I like going in here every so often just to see how far I can push these burrito maestros. I call my latest creation a burrito bouquet. You order your burrito but skip the cheese sauce step. Tell your burrito maker you are eating light today then have them stuff everything they can in that tortilla. Right when the burrito boy thinks he is safe you suck on your teeth. You know what? I’d like some of that fiery queso diablo sauce after all. He might offer to put it on the side or remake the entire thing. No, sir. We made this unique burrito baby together. You’re the most qualified now to deliver her on the Night’s Plutonian shore. So we both slide back to the sauce pans. He tries to do just do a little sauce. No, no. Don’t worry I’ll tell you when to stop. The poor burrito boy just starts ladling queso diablo onto that burrito. Dude looked so relieved when the sauce pan finally ran empty. I made sure to look dissatisfied with the amount so he would think I was on the verge of having him run in the back for more. I suppose that will have to be sufficient. Oh well, it can’t be helped that you just ran out of Fiery Queso Diablo. Yes, yes! Can’t be helped says the burrito artisan. My eyes start roving around the menu board and my vision skirts playfully around the cheese sauce selections. The burrito kid with the wild hair looks like he just about ready to pass out. Guess we can’t gild the lily here. Burrito kid tries to roll that burrito nice n neat. His hands are so sauced up they don’t work right. He can only get one end closed. This used to be my go to place to get lunch or dinner working on the road but at this point I don’t think I will ever waste money here again.

I like to order mobile for convenience sake, but even if I do by some level of desperation eat here again, I will never use it again. The only way you get correct food here is if you watch them step by step assemble your meal in front of you. This last time I ordered extra protein in my burrito; which is already pretty pricey, and I know for a fact I didn’t even receive the standard amount of protein, much less extra protein. I expect to get what I pay for, and that extra protein was nearly 4 dollars. Other times I have ordered both queso and shredded cheese in the burrito and received neither.

Additionally to not receiving it in your meal if you order mobile, even if you do, the quality has dropped significantly. Cholula chicken is always burnt and chewy, practically inedible.

Staff also does not prioritize mobile orders AT ALL. I can count on one hand the number of times I have ordered mobile and it was actually done by the time quoted within the app, which 15 minutes is already a pretty generous timeline for literally one burrito with like three ingredients. I literally have to go in and just stare before someone even bothers making my ticket, and as stated above, it is then made wrong.

I don’t know what happened to this place, but I won’t be back until it’s fixed. I’d advise anyone reading this who wants a burrito to just save some money and get one at Taco Bell, or punch up and sit down at a local Mexican restaurant.
