AutoZone Auto Parts — Local services in Tehachapi

This is the most helpful AutoZone I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with! They saved my behind by going above and beyond to help me out. Storytime... It was 8:30PM when my upper radiator hose blew up while coming up the hill out of Bakersfield. I was 20 minutes away from their store driving but I lost all my coolant and there was no quick fix; they closed at 9PM. There's no way I would have been able to make it there before they closed. So they gathered all the parts & tools I needed to get back on the road & let me pay over the phone with my credit card. Then they hid everything outside so I could retrieve it after they were gone. Roberto even gave me his number so I could call him after hours if I needed help finding the parts & tools in their hiding spot. I was then able to have a tow truck driver to pick up the parts and bring them to where I was broken down. I replaced the hose and got back on the road. Again, not very impressed with the customer service here. On the same day that I went here I also visited oreillys and NAPA. All three had the part in stock and prices were comparable. However, i had a problem with the part that they each had. Both NAPA and oreillys checked their computers and found me different brand parts and did their best to find a suitable part for me and to be able to get them into thier store as fast as possible. Autozone made absolutely zero effort to find me another part. Or even act like they were even going to try to look for something else. I ended up going with oreillys who were able to get me my part on that Saturday, but I was also very impressed with NAPA who called thier sister store that had the other brand part. James is one of the best managers dealing with customers I have delt with. The employees are great, polite and assist the best they can. James is dedicated, filling in a lot for employees that can't show up for one reason or another. I know he's missing time from his family from working extra hours, (like a lot of people do) but he doesn't show discouragement that I have seen. A professional people helper. Reminds me of Haus Cartwright, (probably mis-spelled) from Bonanza.
