DXL Big + Tall — Local services in Temecula

I had very unpleasant experience here. I have been to this location several times and I have returned different articles of clothing because they did not fit well. I have spent a large amout of money here and today the "assistant" manager refused to accept a suit that was clearly not worn. She stated because I tried it on, that they could no longer accept the return. I let her know that I had tried it on in-store less than 2 weeks ago but she still refused to give me a refund. She stated that it is in their policy that no articles of clothing can be returned if they have been tried on but I have returned items before. I had my receipt and the tags in hand. All tags were on clothing except the pants which I tore off but I had them. It does not state on the receipt that the clothes can not be returned nor does it state that clothes once tried on cannot be returned. I will be contacting the corporate office because this is not how businesses should be ran. I come to this store and spend my hard earned money because I feel comfortable coming to here. DXL Temecula has a better selection of big & tall clothes than the DXL San Marcos Store. The salesperson at DXL Temecula was super friendly, & helpful during my visit here. On 3/17/22, they had new shirts in from O'Neill. I liked 1 of their tan button down surfboard shirts, as well as a black O'Neill T-shirt, with the logo set off in bright colors, & ended up buying both.

Frustrating part for me is, it seems like all retail stores, including this one, have cut back on their inventory, so store shopping is more hit & miss than it used to be.

I have difficulty, finding the right fit with clothing, so on-line shopping means playing the return game, which frustrates me. I like trying on the clothes, & if they look good & fit, I'll buy them & I'm done. I wanted to try on a couple nice Tommy Bahama shirts I saw on the DXL web-site, while I was at the Temecula store, but was told by the salesperson, you can only buy them on-line. I’m a “few” pounds above my ideal weight. I’m so tired of going into stores that don’t have bigger sizes. I tried DXL for the first time and I was blown away by the selection and service in Temecula. Outstanding! UPDATE: I've now been in the store three times. The manager, Steffany, and the crew, are AMAZING!!! They are really good consultative wardrobe consultants. I went in the other day, and said, "I need to leave here with three casual outfits that include Jeans and light sweaters." It only took about twenty minutes (including all of the changing room trying on, etc.), and I was out the door with three complete outfits that matched - I can't do that without help - and the total combinations end up being more like six outfits.
