I have been going to Target for years. Today was the worst experience I have ever had at any Target store, and it depresses me that I will NEVER come to Target again.
I am a very petite woman that has a visible physical disability, thus why I like shopping at Target because they have extra small sizes. Today I was exited to see that there was many new bathing suits! I found some in my size, and within seconds, there was a woman who walked up to me, asked me "Do you need any help?" "No, Thank you." Two minutes later, another woman comes up, "Can I help you?" Giggling. "No, thank you." It had been less than five minutes I was in the store. A third woman comes up to me. By now, the employees awareness of the 'disabled woman' is noticeable throughout the store. They are laughing at my disability, and my children.
I make it to the shoes. Thankfully, nobody follows me there, but I have at least four employees walk by and stare at me, very noticeably, like checking me out. Another woman walks up to me, "Would you like a different cart?" "No, thank you." I reply. Why? Why is this happening? Almost every single employee in the store repeatedly gave me a 'visit' of some sort. At first, I was just thinking maybe I was paranoid, but it was when I was checking out that really made me realize this was just a store full of bigoted, trashy people employed at Target.
As I approached the check stand after more gawkings, the final straw was a woman walked right up to the cashier and loudly stated "Looks like you got the HOT POTATO!!!!" And started laughing..... You have to be kidding me. This isn't third grade; these are adult women, teasing a physically disabled person. I am totally disgusted with the behavior of these employees. How could Target employ such disrespectful, disgusting people? Unfortunately, they make enough money that degrading one person doesn't do anything; nobody cares, the company doesn't care, and I will go on, feeling totally humiliated that I actually gave your scum bag company my hard earned cash. Three hundred dollars...
Read moreOn Christmas eve. management at this target showed me what "customer service" should NOT look like. When most stores close early on Christmas eve. this target was to supposedly remain open till 10 pm. I confirmed it by checking online as well as calling the store. However when I reached there at 10 minutes past 9, there was an unfriendly man guarding the door, who told me store closed at 9. There were 10 other people like me who came at around the same time and were denied entry. To my surprise the same doorkeeper let 2 people go inside as I turned my back to go back to my car. After heated arguments, they let me and a few others go inside, only to tell us that they would close the cash registers in exactly 2 minutes. So if we were to buy something we must get it in 2 minutes. I just had to pick up some very urgent OTC health product, and 2 minutes were enough for me. However I did talk to one of the sales associate before leaving. He told me that the store manager wanted to go home early to spend christmas eve with family, so decided to close the store early. How nice. !! I didn't know that a nationally recognized chain retail store is opened and closed by the whim of a store manager who has personal priorities. If he/she wanted to stay home so bad, why to come to work. Let some other manager take over for the day. Bad customer service is one thing, but that store manager also took away 1 hr income of several people who were working in Target that night. Why would Target tolerate...
Read morePretty disappointing Target store. But I do first want to give PROPS TO THE STORE EMPLOYEES! They were ALL super friendly and helpful! And I never had to look far for one. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. Womens clothing dept a mess. Almost nothing in the jewelry & accessories dept.- I mean like 6 pairs of the same cheapo earrings. Zero yard & garden area. Well actually... there was a small portion of 3 tiny shelves in the back corner- hidden in the massive Halloween/Seasonal area. They had a few misc items - none of which I'd consider basic essentials for gardening. (All I wanted was a basic hose sprayer nozzle. They didn't have it. This area is hot and dry inland So Cal. Gardening goes on ALL year long, sooo... ?!? ). Their "Grocery" section is tiny with sad looking food and higher prices than the grocery store AND Trader Joe's. Prices were not great overall. But on the plus side I did see they have a very large makeup & skin care dept. But almost nothing in hair accessories (clips, rubber bands, brushes, etc). The most popular aisles where people spend the most time in (like makeup & hair care) are way too skinny. Can't fit two carts in one aisle - gotta leave your cart at the aisle end. Overall...
