We went here for a birthday party and...mmm, yeaaah, we won't be back because this place is ridiculous.
From the minute we got there, the staff was hovering over our shoulders and stayed the entire time. It was strange and uncomfortable but I figured they were there to assist things with the party...Nope. They were just the rule enforcers.
After about twenty minutes, my family got an extra lane since the birthday party only had two and it was a bit crowded. Then we went and ordered around $100 worth of food to share with the rest of the party. We also bought drinks, including alcohol. Well, as soon as we spent money, the staff reprimanded us for having "outside containers" at the tables. We had a few personal water bottles and, for full disclosure, an iced coffee that was half gone. We threw the coffee away thinking that was the problem because it wasn't purchased there. But no, we couldn't even keep our water. We weren't even drinking them, we just didn't want them sitting in our 110 degree vehicles since it's the middle of Houston summer. They didn't care. The staff wouldn't allow us to have any outside containers, whatsoever, inside and watched us to make sure we put all three of our water bottles into our car ovens...To be fair, the coffee I understand but this is literally the only place I have found that has not allowed water bottles inside. Well, the only place that doesn't require a ticket just to walk through the doors that is.
Then I asked (out of courtesy) if they'd mind we move the tables. They seemed annoyed and told us we can't move any of the furniture out of "safety concerns"...Then I stared at them and said, "Okay, so the tables have to stay then?" They got all huffy and said they could be moved, but we had to wait for the staff to do it.
It took everything I had not to ask them to pull out my chair for me. And after buying a pitcher of beer, I'm surprised I was allowed to lift it and "serve myself".
Last but definitely not least, there were zero handicap parking spots in their parking lot from what we could see. As a disabled veteran in chronic pain, I had enough of this place by the time we left and had a nice bottle of hot water to drink for the ride home...Before anyone asks, I would not have touched the tables. There were plenty of able bodied people to move a table 6 feet to the right. Everyone was annoyed at that point.
As ridiculous as the rules were, rules are their right. But they sure put a damper on our $200(after food, drinks, shoe rental, etc.) experience enough to never want to go back. And we won't. Not to mention the food was overpriced frozen crap, probably...
Read moreIf you ever find yourself in Tomball and want to experience an old-school bowling alley that brings back childhood memoriesâcomplete with classic video games, delicious bowling alley pizza, hot wings, and pretzelsâthis is the place to visit. The atmosphere is great, making it a fun spot for a family outing, a date night, or just a good time with friends.
One thing to note: if you want to play music, youâll need to download the TouchTunes app. Just make sure you select the correct location within the app; I accidentally played music in the bar area while we were bowling.
Now, for my only issue: when paying for bowling time, be mindful of the policies. I initially spoke with a gentleman behind the counter who said I could pay for additional time as we went. However, when I returned to extend our game, a staff member named Jessica was incredibly rude. Instead of politely explaining the policy, she aggressively grabbed a sign, slammed it on the counter, and snapped, âDonât you read the signs? Iâm not your mother.â Her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for, and even other employees seemed uncomfortable.
A simple, courteous explanation would have been enoughâsomething like, âWeâre really busy right now, but Iâd be happy to put you on the waiting list.â Instead, her behavior made me want to leave immediately. After speaking with some staff members, I learned that she has been there for three years and has developed a reputation for making the job unpleasant for others.
Iâm sharing this so youâre aware of what to expect. Other than that unfortunate encounter, the bowling alley itself is a great place to have fun. Just be mindful of the staff interactions, and hopefully, your experience will be better than mine.
Deliciously...
Read moreThere is no such person as "jack stephens". This "person" is Kevin Blackmer, He wrote the previous review because his other post got deleted. So none of what he said is true. The game room games are BRAND NEW, at no time were any of them not working, they have only been in the building about 3 weeks.
The situation in the pro shop, never happened. I would never not sell a person a ball, I would recommend. If a person doesn't like what I decide, so be it, the person is a grown adult, if they want to buy a ball for the color, I'm happy to drill it for them. Also, on the Wednesday in question, I was not in the shop that day.
Just more lies from a person that is angry and upset that the bowling center, and myself in the pro shop would not pay him "under the table". He wanted to work here, but is collecting full disability from the military. I'm a small business, and have no desire to enter into that kind of agreement, as it could only end badly for me. What I do know is that I own two of the best pro shops in Texas, and the said confrontation has never happened at any of my shops in over 20 years of servicing customers in this industry. I just wanted to clear my name, and explain what is really going on. Kevin is bitter, and should be ashamed after all I did for him.
Tomball Bowl has been remodeled, 32 new lanes and approaches. There are still improvements ongoing. It is still a work in progress. The bowl is clean, the food is above average, and not priced high at all, about even with the...
