This store location is clean, large, and well stocked. Parking is easy. I go here often as it is close to home.
However my customer service experience with Irene, who may be a manager, makes me not want to return and support this business, which I know is unfair since it was just one person on one day, but she really made me feel discriminated against.
She was rude to me the moment I entered the store and curt and unfriendly through our entire interaction as I exchanged an item for store credit. If I smiled at her, she wouldn’t even make eye contact. If I thanked her for her help, she wouldn’t even respond. She needed to show me something on her computer screen and she said “come here” in a condescending voice you’d use to a child instead of “could you come to this side please?” in a professional and polite manner. Other staff have always been friendly so I was quite taken aback at her demeanor. Is it because I was returning something instead of purchasing? Is it because I’m Asian American or younger than their typical clientele? Right after she finished my exchange, she turned to another guest who happened to be an older white lady and turned on all the smiles and charm for her. The difference was so stark that it made me reconsider our entire interaction, because up until that moment I just thought “this lady must just be having a bad day” since I’d done nothing to her.
I have never written a Google review but I felt compelled to today, and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t say something in the moment to Irene directly. Irene, if you see this, please consider how you treat your customers.
I will probably return here because I like CB’s products. But if I meet Irene again I will most definitely ask to be helped by someone else. I don’t need that negative...
   Read moreThey only good part was the sales person " Johny" which was so helpful, high class customer service and professional , but forget about the rest, specially delivery, pure mess and if I could give -5 star I would. we ordered our sofa on may 4th in advance for our new house which they said is available to deliver as soon as we want, we agreed for may 11 and told them we need one hour advance notice because we aren't living there yet, however no call or email for delivery and spent 2 hours waiting for them then we learned, looks like on final print the spot for may 11 was gone and automatically rescheduled for next spot one friday may 12 between 9 am to 12:00 pm windows. Someone called at 9:26 am and said we will be there in 30 min, I explained them that take me at least 40 min to get from my place at redondo to San Pedro and they supposed to call one hour in advance, the guy said no problem because we have one more delivery before your place, I got there less then 40 min and no one showed up and they didn't pick up the phone!!! them own customer service could not reach the delivery for hours and after 2 hours waiting at empty house, they said sorry we try for tomorrow, again no delivery next day and later someone called me and told me our next delivery is next friday and asking me if I want to take the spot or cancel the order !!!!! didn't even try to make thing right, not offering apology and said we already refunded delivery charge !!!! worst experience ever for over $5k purchase. I purchased the Hypoallergenic Lightweight F/Q Duvet Insert from Crate & Barrel. After two years of light use, I’m extremely disappointed in the quality and lack of customer support. The filling somehow shifted entirely out of the middle and accumulated on the sides, leaving the center completely flat. This made the duvet uncomfortable and unusable.
When I contacted Crate & Barrel customer service, I was told that because of the time that had passed, they would not offer a replacement or return. I was shocked to learn that they only have a 30- —to 90-day return policy, meaning they do not stand behind their products for the long term. Given that this is a product meant for long-term use, the lack of any warranty or support is unacceptable.
