Booked here for 1 night. I chose this place mostly due to the positive reviews and convenience of location for where i needed to be.
From the moment i arrived i was a little unsure of this place. Although there was a long parking area it was pretty full and space are tight. I struggled to get my suv in 1 remaining space as a lot of the regular cars were parked over the lines of their own spaces. Depending on where you get a space it can also be a bit of a walk to get to the stairs and elevator although i was relieved there was one. There were some shady people in the parking lot not homeless people I dont know if they were staying at this place but there was definitely stuff going on.
The guy on reception was friendly and welcoming. The coffee and water machines were still available which was good even though it was quite late at night when we got there.
The building is having some repair / maintenance work done and an extensive paint job. Unfortunately I didn't know this was going on right outside my room. Especially as wet paint and all their equipment directly outside my door and having a child with me wasn't going to mix too well. There was no mention of this work being undertaken at the time of booking (online).
The room itself was okay. There were no bugs. But the carpet was pretty filthy so i felt i had to keep mine and my childs shoes on to walk on it. The bathroom was clean. The fridge and microwave were clean. There were a limited number of channels on the TV. The shower water was hot although pressure not all that strong.
I was woken up at around 7.30am by LOUD shouting from another room.. whoever was staying in this other room directly above mine was having a major argument that got physical and it got to a point of hearing things falling over and something/someone extremely heavy ending up on the floor harshly. This was a pretty scary experience. The phone in my room to call the front desk also wasn't working. I didnt know the number to call the hotel/front desk directly and there was no way i was going to walk out of my room with my child when i didnt know what the situation could escalate to. When I went for breakfast i mentioned it to the girl on the front desk and she was aware of it but didn't seem that bothered by it, as if it wasn't an unusual occurrence. Some of the people in the breakfast room were also a little questionable and I really couldnt wait to get out of there.
I will never stay at this hotel again based on what I experienced. I understand things can happen outside of the hotels control and when a place is open to book by anyone then I get the hotel won't have a crystal ball to know who they're going to get until they arrive. However, the hotel still has a duty of care to have all its guests fee and be safe and I really feel it failed on this.
I don't recommend this hotel, especially for those travelling...
Read moreHere's my experience. It's not good or bad but it's just what I've seen. The lobby is on the 2nd floor instead of the first one and looks less than decent. Not much of a sight. Breakfast is not included due to COVID-19 and I respect that but a milk or a muffin couldn't hurt. Room was cleaned, no dirt or anything like that. Soft pillows and bed. However, the air conditioning could've been colder. At times, while getting dressed, we've had to open the door just so some cold air can get in. There are 2 remote controllers to the TV, which is weird because one is turn down the volume and the other is to change the channels. Had to find the other remote when I lost it just to turn it down when I could've easily used 1 remote. The door to the bathroom had to use a little bit of force to close it and the handle jiggles a lot with little force. They could add an extra curtain to the bathroom as when I was taking a shower, some water kept coming out and making the floor wet to the point where I had to use the hotel towels to dry the floor. They put out condiments by the bathroom sink if you wanted a tea or some coffee with a coffee pot. The complimentary hair dryer that they offer didn't work but good thing I brought my own. I didn't experience a noise complaint but you would hear, on occasionally, people walking past your room and hearing their feet down the hall but I didn't hear that much footsteps. We stayed here 2 nights and they didn't clean our room for the 1st night which would've been nice to see our room cleaned but oh well. The parking is alright IF you have a small vehicle. I have a large truck and as large vehicle owners know, it can be a hassle as it takes a minute to get in and to get out. But for small vehicles, the parking is good for that. Reception was good but other than that, that is my review. Do want you want with this information. I am just...
Read moreMy husband and I did a two night stay here and I would like to share my experience for others looking to stay here more so, regarding safety and inconsistency.
Upon check in, we had been told my the receptionist in the lobby that housekeeping would not come in on their own without request. If we needed anything like towels and such - we were to ask the receptionist and have that arranged. There is even signage in the restroom of our room that reiterated what she told us. The following day we left in the morning for the day and returned at 8:30 pm where we noticed housekeeping came in and fixed our bed, refreshed our towels and etc. It was a nice gesture but we did not appreciate the inconsistency in communication.
The WiFi did not work the first day there and was spotty the second day.
For reference our room was on the second floor, towards the back end at room 223.
Secondly, this event happened two nights in a row during our stay where someone attempted to come into our room. The first night we heard it around 1-2 am and we brushed it off because we assumed someone tried going into the wrong room since it was an obvious shake at the door handle.
The second night that this happened was around 2 am and my husband heard someone attempting to key the door and subtly jiggled the door handle two times. My husband went to the peephole and notice that a man had given up and heard him attempting to open other doors down the hallway. He did not tell me until the morning and I went to call the lobby from the phone that we had in the room and the whole thing was disconnected.
I’d also like to highlight that the walls are quite thin. We were able to hear conversations from our neighbor to the right of us, the left of us being music, and upstairs where we were able to tell that someone had a...
