I had previously sought medical attention at your facility located at 830 County Rd 64, Elmira, NY 14903 for an ear infection, which temporarily rendered me unable to work. Subsequently, I required a medical certificate to be completed by the healthcare provider for submission to my workplace. On November 14, 2023, at approximately 2:21 pm, I contacted your establishment inquiring about the possibility of transmitting the document via fax or email for completion. I was advised by the individual I spoke with on the phone that the preferred method was to visit the facility in person, where the necessary information would be filled out on-site. In accordance with this guidance, I visited your facility on November 17, 2023, arriving slightly before 4:00 pm. Upon reaching the front desk, I engaged with one of the two staff members present (specifically, the individual on the right when facing them) and conveyed the nature of my visit, explaining that I required paperwork to be filled out pertaining to my previous medical encounter. Regrettably, both front desk personnel responded with evident displeasure, asserting that such services were not provided at your facility. In an effort to resolve the situation, I requested to speak with a manager, only to be informed that the manager was unavailable. Subsequently, I sought to speak with a healthcare professional, and an individual who, to the best of my knowledge, identified herself as a nurse, emerged. This individual, proceeded to dismiss my request and claimed that no one from your facility had instructed me to present myself in personâa statement contradicted by the call log on my phone, which evidenced the contrary. I emphasized that the inconvenience of traveling to your facility from Corning prompted me to seek confirmation beforehand, and had I been informed that such services were not offered, I would not have undertaken the trip. Despite presenting evidence of the contrary information provided during my initial phone call, additional staff members, including another woman, adamantly denied that such guidance had been given. Moreover, it was communicated to me that, being a private, for-profit urgent care facility, your establishment does not engage in the completion of medical paperwork. The staff explicitly asserted, "they are NOT Guthrie," underscoring their status as a for-profit entity. Following an extensive exchange, I opted to request my medical records and, deeming it more prudent to leave, departed the premises with my spouse. During our departure, the staff vociferously declared that any future return visit would be futile, with one of woman suggesting that we would be promptly turned away from urgent care services. The implications of this assertion were disconcerting, particularly given that I had initially sought a medical certificate at the urging of your staff. This experience has left me profoundly disheartened, as I had anticipated a level of professionalism and compassion commensurate with a healthcare facility. Discovering that your establishment operates as a private, for-profit urgent care center has led me to reassess my expectations for future interactions with such entities. I am deeply saddened by the apparent lack of consideration for the well-being and dignity of patients, and I am compelled to caution others against seeking services at your facility, as it appears to prioritize financial interests over the welfare of...
Read moreI Was seen for physical and immunization blood draw for work on 7-19-24 around 10 am give or take, after waiting an hour or so, I finally got back , at first staff were great , nurse were great receptionist was , then I met the provider, he seemed cool , late 20s- early 40s wears a mask , he completed the physical , then after came the blood draw . I'm the most laid back person when it comes to drawing blood , I even forwarned him take your time I got funny vains they cross cross and don't stay still , he assured me got the one he was gonna stick in my right arm first but couldn't find the vain . So he had to stick me again , this time on my left arm , and I asked him do you need to mark it ? Oh no I got it , do you need to put one to two indindations in my skin to keep the vain from moving ? Oh no I got no problem, after watching him mess around for 30 seconds he finally gave up and said he could not draw my blood because they can only try twice and therefore I'd have to come back today again and start the whole process all over again which would be more time or come back Monday which I couldn't because I start another job. Just a waist of peoples time and energy, gas is expensive my time is money , and your waisting. I'm glad your appreciative I was patient. But that doesn't equal or compensate for my time coming back to do a job you should have been a able to do in first place. If your a provider, how are you not able to stick someone? I don't understand how you could fail so bad then tell someone to come back after I tried giving you tips to find my vain ? Common. That's ridiculous. Don't they teach that to med students in med school? Now I gotta waist my time to come back and deal with this again. Seems fair right? Btw this pic is the end result after he blew up my arm fishing for a needle spot to draw blood. Don't come here at all for a physical. General sickness that's different. Go to Guthrie or arnot . I can't stand Guthrie and I'm...
Read moreOn 6/1/25 I visited WellNow Urgent Care in Big Flats, NY. I told the receptionist that I wanted to be seen for lower left side pain radiating to my abdomen. She said ok, but Iâd have to pay my co-pay first, which I did. When I told the PA on duty about the pain she asked for a urine sample, which I provided. When the sample came back negative for any infection, she told me they do not treat that type of pain and that I should go to the ER. As I was leaving WellNow, I was handed a note to give the ER upon arrival. When I got out to my car and read the note I went into panic mode (and I was alone). The note stated that I had a high risk of morbidity without treatment and my condition was potentially life threatening. At no time when I was i was in that clinic was this stated. I had to read it on a note!! When I was finally stable enough to drive myself to the ER and showed this note to the nurses and doctorâŚas I was back in panic modeâŚI was told that they (WellNow) give this note to a lot of patients and that WellNow has been asked to change the phrasing of this letter because it scares people. Obviously, they have not done so. I was assured by the hospital that my condition was NOT life threatening as my vitals and coloring were all good. I feel quite certain that the PA at WellNow asked for a urine sample so she and the clinic would have a reason to charge my insurance and accept my co-pay. I should have been told, upon registration, that they do not treat this type of problem. However, apparently the all mighty dollar means more to them than a personâs well being. They also should not have given out a note like that without explanation. If they have been asked to change it, why donât they? Stay away from this place! My dogâs vet is better. Nobody should be treated like that. I would not recommend them for a bandage. If I could give zero or negative...
