Staples — Local services in Town of Big Flats

On 4/7/25 I was in town on business and stopped in to buy a power supply for my laptop because I accidentally left mine at home. I walked over to the power supplies and I was there looking at my options for about 5 min. Well, it appears at this store, if you take more than a minute to figure out what you want... you are a shoplifter. The guy that was working the print shop area walked to the adjacent isle to me and pretended to be stocking items... then as soon as I found what I needed and walked up to the register, he magically didn't need to stock items any more. I find it offensive to be profiled as a shop lifter by virtue of not instantly knowing which supply I wanted to buy. I took time to read the labels and compare and contrast like any reasonable shopper would do. This guy has a chip on his shoulder and he is just aching to bust someone. Well normally I show my protest by not spending my money there but I needed the supply so this review will have to do. Just want to let the manager know that this guy will alienate a lot of people... You might reduce the number of thefts but you will also reduce your foot traffic and purchases from people with a healthy level of...

I had a horrible experience trying to do TSA precheck at this store. I arrived to the store (a 45 minute drive) at my appointment time and they told me the TSA pre person had called in sick. I asked why I had not gotten a call or cancelation and they told me they were unable to access the TSA precheck system without the person who does it present (which is a horrible system). The manager Tammy told me someone would come in 2 hours if I wanted to wait in the area. I tried to give Tammy my phone number in case something changed, she told me she did not need my number as the person to do the appointment would "for sure be there" - but I insisted and left my contact information. I received a text message 30 minutes later from TSA pre that my appointment for that morning was canceled so I called the the store to double check my appointment was still on and they assured me it was. Then Tammy ended up calling me 45 after this to tell me it was canceled after all. If I hadn't insisted on leaving my number I would have wasted 2+ hours waiting around instead of just the 1.5 hours of driving. Very disorganized staff and system for...

I find myself here looking for something specific every few months that I need right away. And I'm frustrated and annoyed by it each time. The prices are inflated and selection is often limited but they usually at least have the thing I need.

BUT: if you're going to shop here, price match EVERYTHING. And especially price match to their own website. Stuff online can be 10-20% cheaper on Staples.com than it is in the store. And this isn't just a few things, this is most of the store. Each time I've had to do this the cashier or manager act surprised and somewhat annoyed that I'm asking but it shouldn't be like this in the first place. You can also order online for store pickup too, to save some of the hassle, if you don't need to see the thing to confirm it's what you're looking for.
