I cannot really give them a good review for the service
I called to get an appointment from them to come to my house and look at a mini split ductless system that was not working (I thought they would know how to fix my Fujitsu) I made the appointment (they said it would be $190+ tax = $206.xx), I was not present when they went but someone let the technician in.
The Technician didn't check for anything valid aside of turning off the unit from the breaker (something I had done as well :/), the bill receipt didn't specified anything of what they did for an hour.
The Technician called me and said that he was on the phone with Fujitsu support because he didn't know how to read the error code, he had been on hold for the rest of my hour and he said that if I wanted him to stay another hour it would cost me 275 and i'm sure that would be + tax so, because I called them I had to kiss the 206 dollars goodbye with no help at all, it is as though I called my neighbor and gave him 200 dollars to come and turn off my AC and then back on.
I called the office and they were no help, not even a consolation but she did stress out that I was still due TWO HUNDRED PLUS DOLLARS just for them to come and do nothing is not fair. So would they have fix my issue IDK and that is why 2* and now 1*
I ended up calling another company that was very helpful, it did cost me some money but at least they were prompt and very very good BBCOND is the company. I am happy I found BBCOND company that will be my HVAC company for hopefully a very long time.
I hope it helps someone when deciding to call Karl's, I take it as if you are a small customer they don't care as much, they might be good but maybe for a big...
Read moreStay away!! We called because we had a slight leak in our shower. My husband had a feeling that he knew what the issue was but decided he would rather call the professionals. Firstly let’s begin with the way these places run- they send someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing to take picture and send it to the office. Then the person in the office tells them the “issue” and how to fix it. For their insanely high hourly rate I want someone who knows what their doing!!! Next, they told us that we had a big issue and needed to replace a complete part inside our wall and quoted us $2500 plus we would need tile work done. A picture was taken, the guy barely looked and we paid $210 for that. After we said that that was absurd we were told they could change exterior pieces for $1250 but couldn’t promise that it would fix the issue. My husband had a feeling that this was way too much and not actually the issue so we decided to get someone else. Turns out it was nothing as complicated as they said: no walls were broken, no huge parts changed and $2500 was not spent. We paid $60 and the job was done in 20 minutes. This place is such a scam operating as a real business! Disgusting and I would stay away!! Cannot believe they have been in business for so long. This was the second time we called them but will definitely be our last! Cannot believe the lies we were fed...maybe next time the issue should be assessed by the person in the house not some guy sitting on his keister in the...
Read moreI've been remiss in getting this review posted (I don't do reviews often), but here goes... A few weeks back, just as the season was starting to turn, I realized my gas boiler was done for (18 years is a pretty good run, though). Companies closer to my home weren't answering or returning calls, so I checked old files and found the contact info for the Queens-based outfit that helped me once several years ago - Karl's. I'm glad I did. Just as it was that previous time, the folks at Karl's were professional and friendly - a rare combination. I took down names where I could, starting with Mr. Pat M., who checked out our whole heating situation and gave me clear explanations of my options. He couldn't have been more affable, which is a good thing to encounter when you are stressed out like I was, so thank you for that. Then there were Joey M. (yes, Mr. Pat's brother!) and Mark B., who did most of the installation - very efficiently and cleanly, I might add - thank you. The fellow who did the electrical work I didn't get the name of but I want to say "Jedź, Polsko!" for the great job he did (I used google translate for that). Also, Chris and Sean of ADV Chimney, two super nice guys who took care of the serious chimney issue I had. Lastly, a very big thank you also to the Karl's Plumbing owner, Brian, who took the time to speak to me on the phone and ease my worries. Bottom-line, again, highly...
