As new homeowners the prospect of buying new furniture was very exciting. The first piece, of what will be many, was a $3000 leather sectional sofa. The sales woman at Mooradians in Clifton Park, NY seemed very knowledgeable however, it is evident now that she was solely after the sale and the commission. She lacked any ounce of honest follow through with the transaction. A week after we placed the order we received a call to clarify the color or our pillows, in the voicemail the sales representative asked for "Rachel" who I am not nor is my boyfriend. We didn't not order any pillows and upon further inspection I realized that they never charged the deposit and therefore the order had not been placed yet. We called, thought we had cleared everything up and the customer service representative assured us the couch would still be in by the end of December. I checked my credit card statement and saw that I had been charged twice for two different amounts. They charged the 30% security deposit for our couch and for a 30% deposit for "Rachel's" order. We were refunded the incorrect charge, however the helpful sales woman was no longer helpful. Our couch was delivered Friday, a month late. Today when I looked at my credit card statement, guess what, I was charged twice! I immediately called and asked for our sales lady, who surprise surprise no longer works there. The manager that I spoke with explained it was my bank that was charging me twice. I called my bank and they assured me that my card was run twice by Moordians.
My first experience at Mooradians will definitely be my last. As inconvenient and irritating as this whole process was the one who will loose is the company. My boyfriend and I are the first of our friends to buy a house, and based on my recommendation none of them will ever shop there.
I highly recommend never shopping at Mooradians for your sure to leave the experience with a headache and an empty...
Read moreUpdate: STAY AWAY FROM THIS BAIT AND SWITCH BUSINESS. The owners sons resolution to this huge debacle is refund the warranty plan because it wasn't described correctly then to send a seamstress to see if they can repair the sectional by removing the cushions. They obviously don't even know what product was sold seeing as the seat cushions are attached to the frames so there is no way to remove them. I would of expected either a discount or another sectional at their cost but you know that's too far outside the realm for a huge mistake on their part. Always just take take take bur never give anything worth while. Still out over $2300. I wish I could post pictures of the warranty contract to show how it negates itself from the 1st to 2nd page.
So I bought a sectional set from them 2 1/2 years ago. I contacted them in regards to the warranty because I thought I still had it through them along with the extended warranty. They informed me that the damage should be covered under the extended warranty along with providing me the contact information because I never was given anything at the time of purchase. Well unfortunately none of the damage is covered under the extended warranty. Honestly the extended warranty covers barely anything once you get into the details which if this would have been provided at purchase I would have went with a sectional at a different company due to the pricing and warranty. They came in a couple hundred dollars cheaper but now is going to cost me over another $2500 to find something comparable in only 3 years. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with...
Read moreWe went to Old Brick furniture and found a nice couch, put it on our list. "This is very good," I said to my wife. We went to Mooradians and I sank into a couch and I said "This couch speaks to me in a way few others do." You could just tell it was the one. Because a good couch is essential for a good life. So we bought it. We paid a bit more. Unfortunately we have to wait a few months to get it in the color that we wanted. They must have 200 different fabrics that you can get your couch covered in.
Don't get a couch with a bed in it they're just no good.
I shall be sorry to see our current couch go. As a place to experience the ups and downs of life and relax at the end of the day it was without peer. But it gone from being a comfortable old couch to being a total eyesore on the verge of disintegration. It's day has long gone. We are hopeful that our new couch will rise to the level of the old.
If you think all couches are the same and any couch is as good as another and the only issue is ultra cheap price, this is probably not the store for you. If you want to see what you're missing out by thinking that way then yes you should come here and sit on a few couches and see what good quality is. Mooradians is where you find out.
Maybe you'll buy. When I bought a couch 30 years ago I was convinced it was too much money for me to spend because I was broke. But the couch spoke to me. I dug deep in my pockets and put off other expenditures. It was the right call. I hope you find what's...
