New York pilates is great off season. The second June hits, it’s horrendous. I walked in for a 10:30 class I was 2 minutes late. They said the class was full. I said I have a spot they addressed me by name and said that I was late and therefore my spot was given away. I was 2 minutes late. They said that spots are given away as soon as class starts to people on the waitlist. This is a ridiculous policy and I am pretty sure one of the women who checked me in had taken a spot in the class because she wasn’t there when I returned to make sure I wasn’t going to be charged a late fee. She always mixes up the workouts so it stays exciting, fun, and strengthens your muscles in different ways each time. I am somewhat new to pilates and I never feel silly being in one of her classes as she always gives visual instruction as well as repeats the movement several times + offers modifications.
