The Greece Town Mall location of JC Penney is open and back into selling quality merchandise and though limited staff, still great service. Penney is a quality store for one's personal apparel and household and home goods. Plus a hair salon and portrait studio, and not know in by many.
Update on 5-16-23, JVP running lots of Clearance sales on most departments. Some very good buys, depending on your needs and wants.
I had a great shopping experience on 3-25-24 at JCP. Lots of excellent buys in all departments. And many specials in clearances. I did have a bad experience, especially for anyone disabled or with children
The store had special extra hour till 7 pm. However, if you came in from the front entrance through the mall, it closed at 6 pm, and you had no exit from JCP into mall. Shoppers were instructed to leave from a side enter that would lead you across a pathway to the front. This was totally incorrect. You physically had to walk around 3 quarters of the entire mall, outside, in the frigid cold. I had luckily found a cart in back, for I had too many purchases to carry around. I wasn't happy to say the least. And, if it wasn't for Phil and his caring assistance, I would have been frozen, and frost bitten. Phil stopped and gave me a ride in his cool Lexus. So, he's good Samaritan, and should get a gift card from JCP, as a customer, but more so, he saved a valued JCP customer. I hope the store manager gets to see this review. Note: there we're no notices posted on entrance doors from inside mall or...
Read moreWell, I had a great experience here yesterday. I loved it. It was like shopping at the mall in the 1980's. Granted, I was there at 12noon on a Tuesday, but it was Dec 3rd. There were people around, but it was relaxing! I thought merchandise selection was really great! I went for a light winter coat and had a lot to choose from - found a perfect one by Docker's. Price was nice at $84, lines were fine, people were nice. I initially explored buying a coat on-line, as I do for many things. But, prices seemed high, like coats at L.L. Bean were running about $160 on sale, and not being able to try on a coat, I know, is a daunting proposition. I thought about Macy's (usually quite expensive), I thought about Target (not a great selection often), I thought about Walmart (quality and style always a question). Finally I decided on my old friend JCPenney. One store, and it was perfect. I also bought a bunch of new Gold Toe socks. And the store was in great shape! Well done to the manager, and staff, or owners - whomever is responsible. It was neat - the way things used to be - and the way it should be. It really changes the...
Read moreMisleading prices. There was no prices on the blankets and the giant sign on the wall says $50 something. We get to the register and it's apparently $89 because we didn't see the tiny font on the sign. Same with this nice braided throw blanket, it has a big sign next to it that said $35 and according to the tiny text on the sign it's $115 and the items on the bottom of the display was the $35.
Shame on you JCpenny you know exactly what you are doing. We left the register without buying anything and will never return. I will also inform everyone I know of this particular stores misleading prices so they don't waste their time. Just because the sunken cost fallacy exists doesn't mean you should use it on your customers...
