recently visited Aldi for some grocery shopping and had a few surprises I wasn’t expecting. First, I was unaware that you need to deposit 25 cents to use a shopping cart. As someone who primarily uses a bank card or Apple Pay and rarely carries cash, this was inconvenient and a frustrating way to start the trip. Once inside, I noticed the store felt a bit disorganized. I had to dig through about five crates just to get to a loaf of bread, which was not ideal. On top of that, the employees seemed rushed and impatient—especially during checkout. It felt like if you didn’t move fast enough, you were a problem. That said, I’ll give credit where it’s due: the food prices were fantastic. Aldi definitely offers great deals. However, I was also surprised by the added recycling fee on bottled water, which wasn’t clearly explained beforehand. Overall, while I appreciate the affordability, the experience left me feeling annoyed and unwelcome. Unless things change significantly, I don’t plan on returning if I...
Read moreVery spacious store. They have plenty of items with decent prices. There is a security guard, at the front door. It was nice because if she saw a store cart not being returned, she'd run out and get it and return it. There were people using carts from harbor freight next door, as their shopping carts so they didn't have to pay for one. Could be an issue of carts all over the parking lot in the future. I feel like there's a larger selection here, than the westbury store, but it could be an illusion because there is more room in the aisles. It's whats to be expected like another of their stores. Don't forget to bring your quarter for your carts and bags for checkout.
My only thought to improve this location is that I think they need to take into consideration the neighborhood they are serving by providing more cashiers for better and faster checkout. The demographic of the area isn't one where "card only" is accessible or preferred, leaving a long continous line for the sole cashier to...
Read moreToday I found out they took all self checkout out of the store. You have to go to the register to pay your groceries. Thats fine however they don't have enough cashier to actually check people out. The lines are now bigger and they go within the aisle more. This makes it difficult to get items between people. The cashier don't check there spots when they start there shift. I told the cashier that an item she rung was someone elses and to please remove it. The cashier rudely said why I didn't use a checkout divider when she didn't have one. After I told her she did not have one, she did not apologize. I have been going to this aldi since it opened. I have never seen such disorganization and...
