MR HOLIDAYS LIGHTING — Local services in Town of Hempstead

We had a very unfortunate experience with Mr. Holiday Lighting. Brendan was delightful over the phone, seemed so knowledgeable and we were so excited to work with them for the first time this year. Unfortunately, the service (and subsequent customer service) was devastating. Upon completion of the job, there were many errors. Our MERRY CHRISTMAS lawn sign was uneven, the wrong lights were put on the trees, and the Garland was hung unevenly and not according to the photos we supplied. Furthermore, our reindeer and other lawn items were simply placed on the grass. Nothing was staked down. The installers said that they had stakes in the van- the van that was supposed to be on site for the duration of the job - and the van that Brendan left with an hour into the job. The company returned the next day to make things right - and they delivered. We were happy with the end result- although it took a battle on the phone to get there. It was fine.

Fast forward to the take down day. OMG. please never use this company ! Our items were haphazardly thrown into our garage. Many items are broken. Nothing was dissembled. I spent 4 hours trying to make heads or tails out of what belonged where, what needed to be disposed of (and replaced) and what we could attempt to repair. I’m beyond devastated. I hope this saves someone this aggravation later. Please do ample research before booking this or any company to install your holiday decor. We did not and I regret it...

So extremely unprofessional! I reached out recently for a quote for house lighting and as one does, I called a few places for a quote. When I found one that was significantly cheaper from another company , naturally I went with them. Yesterday he calls me to ask me what I have decided and respectfully I tell him I found another company and he asks me why I went with someone else and I respond because I got a better quote.

He then proceeds to say “ok so the only thing that matters to you is cost and not quality?” and hangs up. So extremely rude and ridiculous. First of all how do you know the other company I hired does not do quality work? Are you the only person in Long Island who does quality lighting? And even if you were you wouldn’t be so hurt if a potential client who has never used you before doesn’t know about your “quality” and decides to go with another company. Never if my life have I dealt with someone so unprofessional who calls to shame someone for not picking their firm as a service provider. How childish...

I wanted my Govee outdoor lights Installed professionally. I found Mr. Holiday's Lighting on google. I reached out at 8pm on a Thursday night, after we talked about pricing (very reasonable) and his installation process, I decided to use his company for the installation. He was able to put me on his schedule the very next day. He was very informative, knowledgeable and detailed of the process. He made me feel very comfortable which is what I like when someone is doing work on my house. I cannot wait to see the outcome. I will be back for a second review once the installation process has been completed to share my feedback.
