Bassett Furniture — Local services in Town of Hempstead

It has been over two months since they responded to my review and told me to contact them to resolve the issue. I contacted Bassett immediately and still have not received a response. I received a response regarding the review below. Their responses to all of the bad reviews are nonsense and they have no intention to help customers. I would never recommend or make another purchase from this company. The furniture that we saw in the store have very little variations or blemishes. The furniture that we received was horrendous. The dining table top that we received had over 300 clusters of worm holes in clusters of three. When you look at the table that is all you see. Bassett refused to take it back and replace it. They told me that it was "customer perception.' This table top is horrible. All of my friends and family cannot believe that a company would send this to a customer. After talking with them numerous times, the best Bassett would do for me is sell me another one at what they said was cost. I agreed to this because I could not stand to look at what they sent me. I paid an additional $980 on top of the original $4,000. They also had the audacity to tell me that I was taking a chance that the new top could be worse than the original. How is that possible? Luckily the new top was much better and with very few worm holes. I could go on about how terrible this company and their service are, but this is already too long. The manager at this store is extremely rude and will not address your concerns. Be aware that what you see in the store will not be what you get. I do not want a response from Bassett like I see on all of the other bad reviews. Unless they are giving me my money back don't bother with their nonsense response that...

2 Wenesdays ago I guess it was Jan16th 7:30 PM...That is my only time off with my kids; I am off every Wenesday...after I picked them up from school...they'll have a quick meal and then we hit the road. Swimming is my first stop, then we will go to a store. That day I decided to the Bassett HGTB,(BEING THAT I WATCH This channel religiously everytime that I'm off) fixer uppers, buying and selling, house hunters to name a few. I was very disappointed...maybe they use the Sign "HGTV" for publicity purposes...I did not feel very welcome there or maybe they did not expect any minorities visiting because of their high pricetag... I went there with my 2 daughters The manager there was so mean, he gave my daughters that evil Look after they sat on a recliner...I wondered if I was not around what he could have said or done to my kids...I was so ready for him to say something. I f you dont want anyone to seat on the chairs, bed, couches and furniture before they buy them you are in the wrong profession. !Customers Service is what really sells at any store not the product! Well I guess...had more use for my money...so I bought a mattress set and a bed frame for altogether for almost 4 G's. I am really sorry...

Went from Brooklyn on the LIRR just to get to Bassett and a couple other furniture stores in LI. My husband had called the store on Saturday and spoke with Sharon to let her know I would be there on Monday. Although their sale ended on Sunday she said they would honor the sale price if we left a deposit (refundable), which we did. Monday was Sharon's day off. She nevertheless met me at the store a few minutes after I arrived and spent appx 2 hrs with me helping me shop and making suggestions. It was like meeting up with an old friend. She was so attentive, kind, and helpful. When I got back home, I realized that the table I purchased was just a little large for my space. I sent Sharon a text and she said she would order the smaller size instead. Currently she is working on that and will get back to us with adjusted invoice. So far, I like the experience with Bassett, particularly Sharon. I give 5 stars for her service so far, and 4 stars for Bassett itself. I think their choices are somewhat limited and the prices a bit high. Will update this review after I receive the dining table and chairs. If you go to Bassett, definitely seek out Sharon. She was just terrific. Will let you know how things...
