I had an awesome experience. Money is tight, but I desperately needed a new mattress after spending almost a year sleeping on the couch and putting it off. Initially I wasn't even going to look in City Mattress thinking that I couldn't afford them, but I am so glad that I decided to go in. I was greeted by David Fox. He was not pushy at all like I had anticipated. I told him what I was looking for, and what price range I could afford. What I really liked most about David was that I didn't feel judged based on the price range I needed to stay in. His sense of humor helped me stay relaxed. I picked out the mattress I really liked, but wasn't ready to purchase right away because I wanted my husband's opinion. About a week later I went back into the store and this time I spoke with Mike the store manager. He was just as wonderful as David was. As he was ringing me up, he completely went over the warranty with me and didn't do it in a condescending way like other people would when reviewing a warranty. He also didn't try to up-sell anything to me, which I appreciated. I didn't want to take time off from work to be home for the delivery, so I loved that they were able to accommodate my schedule and deliver on a Saturday. I was told that I should get a call between 7:30am and 8:30am from the delivery folks, and sure enough, they called at 8am. Said they would deliver between 2pm and 5pm, and they came around 4pm. I wasn't at home, but my husband said the delivery guys were extremely friendly and professional. After a poor experience looking for a mattress at a major furniture retailer, I decided to re-position my focus to working with City Mattress who specializes in one product.

My contact first started online with Regional Sales Manager Michael Steiner. Michael was extremely professional and detailed in addressing all of my questions & concerns. He put me in contact with the store Manager, Steve Rosenberg, who I went to meet Monday evening the 12th.

Steve was a pleasure to work with and showed the same care & attention to detail that Michael did. We completed the transaction with haste and was pleased to hear that I could've even had my mattress the next day! Unfortunately, with a long work day Tuesday, I opted for delivery on Wednesday.

Wednesday morning's delivery went very smooth. I elected to have City Mattress remove my old mattress and box-springs as to not have them sitting on the curb all week. The delivery crew was friendly and took the care of wearing booties in my house as to not trudge in the elements.

For anyone thinking about spending the extra for memory foam - do it! I elected for the Serta Blue Max 1000, which has an added cooling gel if you sleep hot. Our mattress had just turned 25 years old, needless to say—time for a new one. The whole process is overwhelming and like buying a car, you want it to be perfect as you’re making a long-term investment in your sleep. We are both nurses and have back problems. Matt C. helped narrow down our preferences for comfort, support, material, longevity of the mattress, etc. Matt was not pushy with the sale like they were over at Metro Mattress. He was understanding that though we were in the market for a new mattress, we were simply trying them out and gaining a sense of what is going to be best for us. He immediately put us in the PranaSleep Karmas which quickly became our gold standard when shopping elsewhere. Really nothing could compare to the Karma Elite Hybrid Plush in terms of comfort and support, our back pain was IMMEDIATELY gone when we laid on the Prana. Matt helped us to understand what the warranty covers with a new bed versus getting a floor model. We decided it was worth the extra money to get the warranty given how much money we were prepared to spend on our new mattress. He was very transparent about what products were “just for looks” and which ones would actually make a difference.
