So I was passing by and had some time before going to a work event in the area. I walked in mentioning that I am redoing my kitchen and both my architect and contractor suggested I pick something out so that we can proceed with my rather large home improvement project. The man then asked me oh is your architect blah blah I said no. Then it was an awkward stand off. I asked the man if he had recommendations that I had a 15or so foot wall of cabinetry with a 9ft island with a sink. He then proceeded to tell me the sink in the island essentially ruins and takes away from it. Thanks but didn’t ask your advice on that. I ignore the comment and move on. He then walks me over to a plain white cabinet and says well this is our lowest least expensive cabinetry if this is something you’re interested in. I don’t want to assume he’s judging me by the way I’m dressed or look (mind you I’m neatly dressed with my hair done, not that it matters) so I ignore that comment. Then says, oh well the handles are pretty affordable too, like $10. I asked him to show me a grey-beige and shows me an off white. At this point I’m really annoyed, he didn’t ask my budget and is assuming I cannot afford or am interested in more. I asked him about recessed cabinetry I found interesting that was next to me and he made another comment along the lines of oh these are really all over the north shore really nice homes they’re going to run you a lot more. That is where I had it. For this particular project I didn’t have a budget because of the size of the project and I mentioned to him that it was extremely rude and unprofessional in his approach. I would NOT recommend this place solely on his demeanor and his arrogance to assume that I wasn’t affluent enough...
Read moreI cannot find enough good things to say about this business, and about Keith. We are doing a major renovation of an historic home, with one challenge after another dropping on us. There is nothing at all normal about this project, and of all the many trades and craftspeople we have worked with Keith is at the very top. His design input has been invaluable, and his patience immeasurable. He has come to the job site many times without prompt or complaint to resolve issues and solve problems rooted in the antiquity of the home. And all of this came at an unexpectedly reasonable cost. We couldn’t help but feel many of these trades took the audacity of our project as an excuse to steer us to their costliest options, while Keith was consistently fair in presenting the full spectrum of his offerings, and offering more affordable alternatives once he learned our tastes from our reaction to the higher-end products. He clearly has our best interests in mind throughout the process. The photo doesn’t do justice to the kitchen - it’s a work-in-process snapshot - but it gives you an idea of where it’s headed. Everyone who sees our project, from tradespeople to historical societies, offer effusive praise for Keith’s work. We wouldn’t hesitate to use him again if we were ever crazy enough to restore...
Read moreKeith was a real pleasure to work with. From the start of our family room bar project to the final completion Keith was always helpful with suggestions, product knowledge, alternative options and more importantly provided great sources of installers and counter fabricators (they were wonderful to work with!). Along the way we revised our original layout of cabinets and Keith was very responsive in making these revisions and was happy to do it. His display of cabinets and hardware in his showroom which is conveniently located on Main St. made the selection process of styles very easy. Keith always returned calls and addressed our concerns and was always happy to help. Overall, we will highly recommend Keith Stark to our friends and family if cabinet renovations are needed anywhere in the home. We are very happy with the results and will be enjoying the new look for years...
