I joined OTF Mamaroneck 6 months ago and it’s been life changing. The front desk staff here are so friendly, professional, helpful and accommodating. The overall facility is clean and equipment is good— if anything breaks they are quick to get things back up and running. The overall vibe is positive and fun. The class format is great bc I get both cardio and strength training (which has helped me go from a power walker with an achy knee to runner with no pain!). And it’s a workout I don’t need to think about I just show up and before I know it I’m done.
The 👏 coaches 👏 are 👏phenomenal!👏
Sondai is awesome— he pushes you to be better every class and helps correct form. He’ll hand you a heavier weight if he thinks you’re ready. I’ve (safely) pushed myself more than I thought I could. One of my favorite things about OTF is that they aren’t instructors, I actually feel like I’m being coached to be better and Sondai is really invested in the “team” each class. Christian is so supportive and motivational and also very aware of form to prevent injuries. You can tell he really enjoys coaching and is also really invested in the “team.” Ive also seen him support a new coach’s training which I think is great to assure the best quality in the coaches. Jaymee always has a killer playlist 🔥 and like the others, supportive and motivational and I like her humor. I haven’t taken Jose and Tyler as much but only due to my schedule but when I do I always have an awesome class.
One thing I’d like to highlight is the way they train coaches. The templates are always changing and seem complex to lead so I’m sure there’s a learning curve. They had a regional coach come in and train the new coach for several classes and then an on site coach continued to support him. I loved this because it gave me confidence that they are really invested in consistent, high quality class and im sure it’s really great for the new instructors to feel that support.
Such a good vibe here and if you’re looking to join I couldn’t...
Read moreI cannot speak highly enough of this place. I 'found' Orange Theory through a friend and I am totally hooked. Pre shutdown I was attending 4-5 times per week. The Mamaroneck staff are positive, professional and incredibly welcoming and the facilities are clean and super well managed. During shutdown OTF posted online workouts that you could do at your leisure, additionally the fantastic coaches gave their time and hosted many live Zoom sessions which, as a person recovering from Covid I really, really appreciated, both for my physical and mental well being!
Once gyms were able to reopen OTF Mamaroneck ran great outdoor classes which were a brilliant Segway back to the indoor classes that followed. At first I was reticent to workout indoors, but I decided to try 1 class with a disposable mask (Masks obviously required indoors) and am pleased to say it worked really well - I haven't found that wearing a mask is a hindrance at all. There is NO sharing of equipment (treadmill, rower, weights. TRX etc) and the coaches are excellent in directing their clients so that we all move in one direction when swapping from one piece of equipment to another. You don't even need to touch the doors to enter and exit! Between classes all of the staff jump to cleaning and 'fogging' the equipment and there is 30 mins between classes to allow them proper time to do this.
I can't see that I would ever join an open gym, with shared equipment, again having had this fantastic experience with Orange Theory. Yes they are different types of training but for me OTF is the way to go.
Thank you OTF for keeping me sane and being a positive influence in my life during these unprecedented times -...
Read moreWhen life hands you an Orange 🍊. I’ve known about Orange Theory for years. Honestly regret not being part of it sooner. Till I moved to Mamaroneck back in August. During my adjustment to a new neighborhood. Struggled to find a gym in proximity to me. Other than the exercise room in my building. Convenient. However isolated. I missed the energy of the music and community that a gym offered. After a couple of months couch surfing 🏄♂️! I signed up for a free class on the 12/31/22 through Ally. Informative and fresh as an 🍊! I remember my 1st free class. I was nervous and doubtful. Till April gave me a run down of how things went down. My 1st free session felt amazing. I burned more calories in a hour than I would have in a week. I was immediately hooked. Became a member that day and have been hitting the ground running 🏃🏻♂️ ever since. Always look forward to my weekend sessions with Jaymee. Her direction is on point as her hip hop mix. Christian is a natural born commentator. Keeping everyone on point! Play by Play. “All Out”! I hope to train with the other instructors in the near future. For now. I’m just soaking it up. Being part of the 21/90 Club! When life hands you an 🍊. You better enroll in Orange...
